These look like a great mother’s day gift, but I don’t want to give my mother something crappy. Are there reviews of these anywhere?

Had an 8 pack of these from Target or home depot, they don’t provide much light at all. They illuminate about a foot radius around them, very dimly.

Hm… Might get some to make some sun jars. Now I just need to find eight jars… or 24 jars! Sun jars everywhere!

These types of solar lights aren’t really for illuminating an area, more for a subtle glow for ambience, or for marking pathways.

Well, if you get enough of them, you can use them like airport runway lights. They’re too weak to actually illuminate something like a walkway. However, they are reasonably good at showing the outline of a walkway.
Generally, I think these are a giant tacky rip-off. These are the plastic pink flamingo of the new millennium. That said, this price makes them sort of reasonable for … oh, I dunno… lighting your home UFO landing pad.
I love these things, but alas… No more yard.

thinking of getting this. Just closed on my house oh 9 hours or so ago; so this might make a nice purchase for the new house. do these have a tendency to have 1 or 2 or 7 DOA duds in the lot?
Lets see: rechargable battery, solar cell, LED. All for $2.65. Seems like they are selling for the cost of parts. Housing has a cheapy/plasticy look to it.

seems pretty good to me. these amber lights are getting harder to find. I take the lights apart and mount the tops onto more appealing bases. Ikea usually has some frosted glass thing that works well. Like someone said, not so much for illumination as for ambience. If that’s what you want, go for it.
They look just like ordinary accent pieces for the yard. These are great. Finally, a way to get a message back to the mother ship. In for three, takes a few to spell FKLEY!!
