I know there’s a color limit in the overall design, but the lightsaber should really be red.

Maybe adding a severed hand at Darth’s feet would have worked to explain him holding the blue lightsaber?

There is no color limit, actually. Digital prints have the full gamut.
That said, I’m sure the designer made that choice given the overall feel of the design. I’d agree given it would be all “LOOK! A RED THING!” and not Darth as the focus.

Hey! Thank you for the feedback! I tried the red lightsaber but it didn’t work. As @acraigl wisely said (thank you). It’s a mashup with Metallica’s album art, where blues and purples are dominant. So I tried to change them to reds and similar tones, but at the end it didn’t work either. So I kept it close to the original. I’m sorry you don’t like it :frowning: but I totally understand your point.

As an old school Metallica fan, whose first band shirt he got with his own money was a “Ride the Lightning” shirt, this is freakin’ amazing. And the Star Wars fan in me absolutely approves the blue lightsaber, given what you’re referencing. The red would have pulled from the reference to Metallica and would have confused the whole idea. Not everyone will like it, I understand, and that’s cool. But you got a major approval here (for whatever that’s worth, which probably isn’t much) and a giant thank you for this trip down memory lane, and a mash up of 2 of my favorite things. Well done, Retro. :metal:

This really means a lot. I mean, a lot. This is the kind of reaction I was looking for when I started the design. I really appreciate it, thank you so much for this.

As on old school Metallica fan, and Ride the Lightning being my first exposure to them, this design is awesome. And red would not have fit the design. And yes, I have been a Star Wars fan since it came out in 77. None of this New Hope crap.

Not saying I didn’t like it. It’s pretty damn awesome and I’m buying one in 3XL for my brother. He’s a huge Metallica fan and a Star Wars nut so it’s right up his alley.

I also downloaded the image and tried a quickie change to the lightsaber, and you’re right. It doesn’t work in red - too much contrast to the rest of the image.

Thank you soooo much for this! I appreciate it, even more coming from an old school Metallica fan! And I totally agree with you, the last trilogy was disappointing.

Thank you for this. I appreciate you took your time to test it by yourself! When I start a new design, I know not everyone will like it, that’s impossible. But when it comes to a Star Wars themed design, I feel an extra weight falling over me. I always try to be extra careful with every detail. I appreciate your comment, because I take it as a constructive criticism, and I’ll always welcome it. So I thank you again for it and I strongly hope that your brother loves his shirt!

OMG, finally somebody who agrees with me! I take it a step further - I think the prequel trilogy - on the whole, there are some aspects that are exceptions - was better than the last three.

As for this shirt, it’s awesome! It will pair very nicely with your “Ride the Nightmare” that I also have :metal:

Thank you for this!! I’m so glad you also like my Ride the Nightmare!!! I also agree with you. When they launched the precuel I had bittersweet sensations (more bitter than sweeter, tbh). But compared to the last trilogy ( ep 8 and 9 in particular), the precuel is a masterpiece.

Thank you for your feedback, i appreciate it!!
