Microsoft Surface Pro 7 12.3" Tablet

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 12.3" Tablet

This is the last surface pro I think that came with an SD card extension.

It was also the last with this design.

It was the first with USBC so that does help keep it relatively modern. It gets incredibly hot though and doesn’t have very good battery life even when it was brand new.

I still have one that I bought all the way back in the pandemic. It has served me adequately and it’s obviously incredibly ergonomic with the kickstand. The tablet experience is be on your way obviously quite limited on Windows.

Shame that wasn’t some kind of launcher that would trigger when you put the keyboard on that made it more tablet focused. Like Windows 8.1 which honestly might have been a little bit ahead of its time in some ways.

The Surface Pro 7+ was the last tablet with this design. It added an 11th Gen CPU, and a little SSD door on the back for easy upgrades.

I lost my iPad Pro :expressionless_face:. For media consumption and light web browsing how would this be as a replacement? Thanks

Oh yes you’re right I forgot about the plus model which I think had different internals. I don’t know if that was sold widely on the consumer market I thought it might have been just enterprise but my memory might be failing me

You might miss the OLED if you’re used to your iPad pro. But a huge benefit of this over the iPad pro as you can actually run browsers with extensions and ad blockers and there’s no restrictions on download.

My biggest concern for a content consumption device though would just be the battery as this is running it Intel chip in a very small and thin chassis.

Not a huge deal to me. I’m usually either close to a plug or plugged in. But I generally use this more with the keyboard attached and plugged into an external monitor.

I probably rely on my Galaxy tab S7 for content consumption more so just because it has more storage and the arm-based chip doesn’t get nearly as hot.

It doesn’t get updates anymore though but something like the tab S8 on the resale market could be compelling.

You could always get an iPad again too but I just can’t live with something that doesn’t allow me you to use desktop extensions on browsers

I don’t know about iPad Pro but I have iPad 10 and iPad Mini 7 and the Safari browser lets me use an Adblock extension

According to the specs listed, this particular one has the SIM (wireless) slot, which would be in lieu of an SD card slot.

Hi! Are you sure? Does the tablet support LTE and has SIM card slot?

Hello. This tablet does not support LTE. Sorry.

Kind of irrelevant since it sold out two days ago.
