BEWARE! I ordered five keys back in February and April from Woot! and when I recently tried to activate them, they failed. I contacted Woot! support who refused to refund me or provide me legitimate keys because it had been more than 90 days. I then contacted Microsoft and found out that the license keys were not for Windows 10 as advertised - they were upgrade keys from Windows 8.1. Woot! sold me the wrong keys and refused to provide the correct keys. Microsoft does not allow you to use keys from previous versions of Windows to activate Windows 10.
So - just be careful. These might not be legitimate keys. If you buy them, don’t wait to try and activate or you’ll risk being stuck with unusable keys.
Can I use this to go back to Windows 10, which I liked better?
I’ve bought two of these. The first was back in June and it wasn’t until just a few days ago that I tried to use it. It didn’t work, I contacted Woot and they refunded my money along with a coupon for $10 off my next purchase.
The 2nd order was in Sept and I attempted to use that one after the one from June failed. Surprisingly the 2nd one activated just fine. Your mileage my vary.
If you had Windows 10 installed previously on that same machine, you do not need a new key to reactivate. All you should need to do is just install with the Windows 10 media and use your old key if promoted.
If you never had Windows 10 licensed on that machine, this should work provided you get a good key.
Update on my earlier post. Woot! was kind enough to refund my money for the keys I purchased that didn’t work. I very much appreciate that.
