Pro radio guy here and author of [upcoming] “I Want To Podcast!” audiobook.
The “Blue” brand is pretty good, more reliable that oddball imports with no big name behind them.
Having 2 is nice, but you cannot use 2 at the same time!
As I say in the audiobook, you do NOT want an expensive studio mic UNLESS you have a real, acoustically neutral studio. It will pick up too much room noise and will need a pre-amp.
Also, just get this mic to try out recording & editing to see if you like doing all the work!
I often use a Sampon Meteor mic ($40) for less critical recording. Just avoid the Chinese cheapies with odd names that look they were made from left-over letters. FYZQUON??? [Made that one up!]
Just got mine, and it’s not new as indicated. Thrown in a standard box with minimal protection & 100% non-OEM plastic bags holding the manual/etc. Any protective coverings or wraps were removed, and nothing new electronic doesn’t come with a ton of thin clear film wrapping protecting components.
