So with this set can you have different colors or are they just varying shades of white?
I ask because the Woot colorful commentary (see what I did there) that introduces the product mentions different colors (the tulip joke) as well as this one blurb…
White only.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX: Each kit contains 3 Philips Hue White A19 60W LED Smart bulbs

I’ve been a Hue user since they’ve been around, I’ve got a dozen bulbs and a couple of different accent lights, went through the original base station and paid to upgrade to the newer one years later. They used to be the only game in town.
I’ve recently stopped buying and recommending their bulbs. why? there are simply as good, or better, alternatives for a far better price out there. Philip’s Black Friday sale had their color bulbs at $33/ea. I use Apple Home and can pick up Nanoleaf bulbs for ($20) or VOCOlinc bulbs for ($17). Both work great, don’t need a proprietary base station, and are actually brighter (850 vs 800 lumen).
Don’t get me wrong, Hue bulbs work great, mine have lasted for years, and if you don’t have an Apple device to act as a base station then getting the Philips one will solve that need. Philips also has strips, accent lights, and various other lights and accessories. But if you’re looking for just bulbs, which most people are, there are other options.
Long time Philips Hue user here. I have about 60 bulbs I’ve collected over 7 years. Dimmable, color changing lights are now a must have for me. This is a decent pack to get started with. The hue bridge basically is free in this pack. However, I probably wouldn’t be buying these bulbs. They are Hue White, not Hue White Ambiance, or Hue White and Color Ambiance. They have one color temperature that is fairly warm. They can be dimmed and controlled with the app or smart devices. I would put these in a hallway or something but you’ll want color bulbs in their place if you put them anywhere else.
I’m with the wife. I have no idea what hue means or what a hue hub is, so sue me.
