Potastic 6Qt 10-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker

Potastic 6Qt 10-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker

What’s this brand? Are all the different brands about the same?

IT’S POTASTIC!

Fair question. I’m not a member of the instant pot community, but people seem to like them.

The obvious question is: how can that sterilizer be used against a virus? The less obvious question: why is there a pumpkin pie shown in the illustration labeled “cake”?

About the pie, because that’s about as close to A cake as you’re going to get in one of these. It’s not an oven, it will steam your cake-like creation in a water bath, I believe. Can you even fit a regular pie tin in one of these?
If you can get all the viruses you want into the thing, I’m sure it will be effective. Is it sterilizing with steam? …What do people sterilize in these? Canning jars?

Neither of my Instant Pots has a sterilize option, but my understanding is that those which do use steam to sterilize canning jars. Almost none of the electric pressure cookers officially support actual canning tough, because they don’t provide enough pressure.

FWIW, this is a pretty good deal based on the features and capacity. If you use a slow cooker or rice maker on a regular basis, this can replace both of those. “Dump”, or one-pot meals, are very easy to make in these as well.

Don’t waste your money,go to Walmart and buy an InstantPot for $10 more. I got this pot and the lid wouldn’t lock & looked like there was metal shaving when we tried to lock it in place. I tried to get ahold of the company 4 different times with no response. I got ahold of Woot who emailed me a return label to get a refund. Let me be clear,Woot was awesome about the refund but the actual company that makes the Potastic, however, I couldn’t get ahold of by email and the phone number wasn’t a working number.

Nah. You can make cakes. LET'S MAKE A BOX CAKE IN THE INSTANT POT OH YES YOU CAN - YouTube

FWIW now, I didn’t mean that you couldn’t make a cake in it, just that I’ve seen many reviews that’s say they don’t like to use it for cakes, I guess because the texture/ weight not the same as you would get from an oven… I would imagine it to come out very moist, probably more dense, more like a pie or cheesecake

Pleasantly surprised, it is well made and so far has worked flawlessly, much quieter than my old T-Fal Pressure Cooker which cost more.
