PowerBlock Sport 50 Adjustable Dumbbell Set

Welp, I succumbed to the price, $200 is a steal for these and they’re highly reviewed everywhere, even over the Bowflex.

BTW If you have Honey they will give you back $19.99 for this purchase, it says the offer expires in 20 hours.

not seeing the honey deal on their app. It does say 8% back on eligible purchases but I don’t see the details that indicate this purchase qualifies for that. No coupon codes seem to work either.

That’s odd, I got it the moment I opened the Powerblock page here, but if you go to Honey’s website, search for “dumbbell” and click on the filter “exclusive offer” tab to the left you’ll see the offer.

Good deal if you don’t have a need to go above 50 lbs per dumbbell as this model is not expandable. The 5 lbs increments are very nice(I can still accomplish this on mine but have to use the silly in handle adder weights). I have the Elite USA and 70 lbs expansion, waiting for woot to have the 90 lbs expansion again. Great for pressing exercises. Don’t fear the selector pin failing and dropping them on your face, if you’re pressing the weights and handle are angled on the sides so it would hold without a pin…at least until you flip them right side up again . Get an adjustable incline bench that can stand on end for storage and you’ll have a very versatile compact home gym. There may be a very slight amount of play in your weights, perfectly normal but will feel more like a bar with plates than single molded solid dumbbells. I was skeptical of the design(so blocky) but I am now a believer.

These weights look really cumbersome to use.

They should make them lighter.

STOP.

I shouldn’t have to say this but if you can’t be nice, then don’t say anything at all. Read the forum guidelines if you don’t remember what is and isn’t appropriate.

Chill out.

Love the cinder block shape.

I actually do love the shape of them! I got them last night and they are the best dumbbells I’ve ever used. Because of the shape, you can set them down without them rolling around, and you can even use them to support yourself when on all fours. So much better than traditional dumbbells and better than other adjustable types.
You’re missing out if you skip them just because they look different!

Seems i ruffled feathers in this post, lol.

Look up diy Adjustable Dumbbells. No shortage of links.

Really all you’re doing is indented twist that pushes a pin into plates. The intldent is tactical feedback and keeps it from turning unintended. Pin holds the plates.
You can get steel plates, have them torch it to size, then angle grindbthe edges. You could buy all the tools and metal for the price here rather than have others cut it down.

I like building things and having an excuse to buy tools/parts that fit within the same budget.
