Pyle Dash Cam HD/Camera + Camcorder

Amazing that there’s NO reviews anywhere on this dash cam. It has a 170 degree wide angle lens: a great spec for a dash cam, and 1080p at this price point is a bonus. The specs utterly fail to state how this works as a method of documenting accidents however. Most dash cams record in 2, 3, 4, or 5 minute segments until the memory is filled up, then begin deleting the oldest files to continue writing data. Is that how this one works? Also curious about its 3M doublestick mounting bracket - I have a band of tint across the top of my windshield and I’m not putting any adhesives on that. What are the mounting alternatives? Are there ANY video files out there from this camera us Wooters can view?

Yes, it’s hard to find reviews on this item. This thing has a lot of features for a very reasonable price compared to many of the other products I’ve researched. From pictures and info on Pyle’s own website, I see that the LCD is at a very odd angle after installation, and there is no suction cup option, so the installation will not be forgiving any mistakes. Although it has the parking impact detection, there is no rear view camera, so you still might not know who hit your car when parked. Many more expensive cameras also have GPS, so if that’s important, go elsewhere. Still, this has a lot of features for a very good price (although their MSRP of $199 seems quite excessive). I bought this thing that last time is on Woot! for the same price. I have yet to set it up since it arrived right before Labor Day weekend and we were busy. It seems like a decent quality camera and out of the box, appears to be put together well.

I will try to get it up and running and will post up a video if I can.

Bought 2 I hope their better than the POS TopDawg crapcam I bought in June. I ended up putting that pos on my daughters Barbie Jeep…

bought two Pyle PLDVRCAM25 dash camss and in less than a year they both melted. It looks like something on the inside got really hot and the plastic on the back is pushed out like a bubble. I’ve been trying to get Pyle to honor their waremty since May 16. It’s now the end of February. Not only did I have to pay to return the defective cameras I had to include a return shipping label for them to send me replacements. Once they received them I got a call I was told by Hillel in Returns that unless I removed all negative reviews, ( my Amazon review has pictures of the melted camera if you’re interested in seeing them) and was told I received the extended warranty by deception as that extended warranty was to be in exchange for a 5 star review only. No where in the offer was that stated as it violates Amazons review policy and could cost Them their amazons seller privileges. After filing a complaint with the BBB in NY they responded claiming the heat source was external and they had offers out of the kindness of their Hearts to replace the cameras at a discount and they were just waiting on my payment. The first I heard of that was from the BBB not Pyle. They will replace my cameras for $30 each. I paid $18 to ship them the old cameras and $18 for the return label bring the price to $48 each. They sell New on Amazon right now for around $50. Saving me a total of $4 and after 7 months Of runaround I fully expect them to ship broken cameras or my old set after I pay the $60. I wouldn’t recommend Pyle ot anyone, ever.
