Where is it manufactured?

These are still very quiet after 2 years use, due to motor and very well engineered blade design. Highly efficient. Great for a home computer room.

At low speed and an angle, I have had to look at it to realize it was left on.

German company and design. Manufactured in China to their specs. FWIW mine were very much better made compared to the typical white fans seen everywhere.

This is about 1/3 off for the floor stand model (if you Google). Table version is cheaper on Amazon Mothership. Happy with purchase of 3 of them for self and family.

This is the anti-Dyson fan: it’s quiet, reliable, and reasonably-priced.

What does the remote exactly work? Specifically will it control the oscillation, up/down motion as well as the speed of the fan?

Pass. I like my fans loud.

The only buttons on the remote are turbo boost, speed control, and on/off so I would assume the oscillation is not controlled by remote.

If you’re looking for a stand fan, this is the one to buy. It is definitely quieter than the rest of them. Mine is running right now, and I’ll bet you can’t hear it!

The remote controls on/off, fan speed, and turbo mode. It doesn’t control oscillation, which is its only drawback, though not a deal-killer. I never set it to oscillate, but sometimes I’d like to tweak the fan’s direction without having to leave my keyboard. :slight_smile:

i’d buy one today without hesitation, but I already have one in the box as a backup in case the one I’m using ever fails.

I took my old noisy one outside to use when I’m lying in one of those hammocks that woot sells from time to time. That one has a remote that controls oscillation so I can tweak the fan’s direction without getting out of the hammock…but it sounds like a 747, which is not so bad when you’re outside.

Buy this. You’ll be happy.

I concur with the other posters. It’s well made, quiet, and reliable. It even looks better than the typical $20-40 floor fan. If you’re OK with spending $80 on a fan, I’d say go for it.

Bought one of these from a local store but ended up returning it. While the fan is super quiet, the motor actually makes some noise. So instead of wind noise, you get a very faint hum/whine from the motor. We ended up returning it, as the white noise of a fan was better than the hum of a motor. I also recall that the blue LED lights were not dimmable, so if you’re in a small, dark room, you’re stuck with it.

But hey this great fan will keep you company with hours of entertainment. Back and forth.

I bought one of these fans 5 years ago when I moved into my current home, and paid full price. I love this fan. Previously all my fans were Vornados, but this fan out-performs all of them. Quiet, even on high speed, it really is almost silent when on low. I use it in the TV room, and I would have one in the bedroom, but I opted for ceiling fan there instead. After five years this fan still works as it did when new. Well worth this reduced price.

Sadly, the remote will only turn the fan off/on and change the speed. No timer, no control over oscillation. Still a great bargain though, at this price you could buy a fifth of a Dyson…

–Warning: entering rant mode-- I know it’s hard to make a fan sound ‘sexy’ & desirable; but adding blurbs that tout ‘benefits’ that really aren’t is bothersome.

Where do I start on this? First- it can’t “provide quiet”; it just doesn’t add much more noise to what’s already there. Second- it ‘provides’ that same level of quiet no matter what? You mean it doesn’t monitor what I’m doing 24/7, and increase or decrease the noise it makes accordingly? Ummmm… thank-you? --Rant mode exited–

(deep sigh) On the other hand, just saying “It moves air quietly and efficiently, at a good price.” doesn’t ‘sell it’ either.

Yes! Very Good! I agree wholeheartedly! Marketers have no idea what words to use anymore. They use words that, honestly and bluntly, do not describe accurately the product being sold. Fans provide you with nothing except movement of air… I much prefer Woot’s descriptions that, while chaotic and nonsensical, are honest and forthright. Things like “Select from three mid-to-high or Turbo Boost speeds for the feeling of an extra-powerful blast of instant fresh air.”… the air isn’t any fresher, the air was just over there in the corner of the room and now its in my face; not fresher. lol But it is what it is, I just laugh at the misnomers or malapropisms that are used. They make me giggle hardcore and snicker… snicker doodle!
