I god, I pity the fools who buy this. Hope you have a several thousand dollar license to support it.

I remember that you can use it with no license required

These are End of Life Products, but they do run the Ruckus Unleashed late 2024 version firmware. They are great Access Points, and you can’t beat the price for them here on Woot. The only thing is that I don’t believe you can Mesh them together, but for wired Access Points, they can’t be beat. I purchased 4 of the R500 AP’s when they were EOL several years ago, and have been running Ruckus Unleashed Firmware on them. There are no more Firmware updates for them other than major security fixes, but honestly they work fantastic. I have 2 hardwired and from those I have 2 more that are Meshed as I can’t get ethernet cables to them. They are a tad slower, but have worked perfectly for several years now. If you don’t need Mesh Capability, these are excellent AP’s and I highly recommend them. BTW, you DO NOT need to purchase a license to use them. Unleashed Management Software can be installed onto these if your’s don’t come with it already, and can be configured and managed through a PC web browser or Phone/Table Application. Again, the Firmware is Free. Have Fun! Commercial Grade Access Points for $20 ea. Can’t be beat!

Provider? These are not Modems, they are wireless access points only. You connect them to existing Modems or Switches and they provide WiFi in your home or business. The can be setup to use the Ruckus “Unleashed” software or as a simple “Stand Alone” Wifi access point on any existing home or business network. I have had similar Ruckus AP’s working in my home and several of my friends homes for many years and they work like a charm.

No license required to use these with either the Ruckus Unleashed Firmware or Stand Alone AP Firmware. License only required if you want to use the Ruckus Managed Switch and set them up like you would for a big commercial customer.
