got mine today as well… and seeing how i work at home, i never heard the doorbell ring…
kind of annoying since i also got the rockford mp3/cd player in today as well… i’d hate for something expensive to sprout legs and walk off some day just because the delivery guy didn’t feel like reaching up and hitting a button.
I got the lemonaders for family in FL. Is it safe to assume they can also be used for other types of juice? I don 't want to open the box to read the instructions - I’m hoping to just take on the plane in the box, so I hope the packing is good (it will be checked luggage), or does anyone who has opened it think I should re-pack?
thanks
Beth in Dallas
i know it does lemons and limes. i would assume it could do oranges as well, but i don’t think it’s really designed as just a juicer. it actually heats the water and makes syrup out of the sugar before mixing it with the lemon juice.
pretty complicated piece of machinery for such a simple task, really… but it should be delicious.
each pair is packed in a fairly large brown box, and the two lemonaders fit perfectly side-by-side. there’s no room for them to move about inside, so as long as you don’t go beating the hell out of the shipping box, you should be fine.
Got my Lemonader(s) today, ran to the store and bought 30 lemons and let 'er rip.
Short version:
Don’t skimp on the sugar, and for the love of pete DONT touch anything while it’s brewing. Hot steam everywhere. Keep that in mind, you’ll have cold, REAL lemonade in ~6 minutes (most of which is waiting).
Make sure you don’t push too hard on the reamer too, my instincts wanted me to push it down with all my might, but the cheapo motor probably cant take it. Just hold the lemons there and then squeeze the last bit out yourself.
Great result from a cheaply made product, be careful with it.
:o Talk about sticker shock. My local Wyoming Albertson’s market had a sign on the lemons that said 69 cents. When I got closer I saw that it said 69 cents EACH. You need 4-6 lemons for a pitcher of lemonade, ouch.
Well at least the stuff is good and still cheaper than the mall juice bar.
BTW, I made it with SPLENDA instead of sugar, no problemo.
If you’ve filed the note allowing them to leave packages, only the ones who still have some slight motivation left will care. The rest will drop packages off, not knock, and run.
Um, could someone at woot look into my package? I’m showing package data transmitted and that’s it. It’s due tommorow, according to the page, but no scans at all. order number is 10145161.
I want my lemonade!!! No shipping info posted yet. I just keep hoping that was a small error and tomorrow when I get home, a big box of lemonade making goodness will be waiting for me. But then I’ll have to run to the store and buy some lemons.
By the way, does anyone know about how many lemons I am going to need for a batch of this?
actually, turns out i was able to find it myself.
the tracking number you’ve got is probably just an incorrect one.
i’ve got another tracker here that shows your package due for delivery later today
looks like there may have been a problem with yours, although i’m not sure what.
i’ll have to get someone to take a peek at it later this morning, but i’ll post back as soon as i know more.
I got mine yesterday and even made some lemonade… 6 lemons made it a bit tart so 4 or 5 should work better. Did make some DAMN GOOD Lemonade.
Yeah the $2.99 for a bag of 6 lemons was a bit pricey for a few glasses but this is perfect for when friends are over or when throwing a party, much better then powder lemonade mix.
I’ve never bought lemons before so when I saw them 2 for $1 at the local store, I wasnt sure if that was a good deal, ended up with $3 anyways.
Followed the directions for the basic lemonade in the book, used 4 lemons and 1/2 cup sugar. Ended up with at really TART batch. Very good stuff, stick it in a big glass with one of the reamed lemon halves and you got stuff better (and cheaper) than at the fair, without the “carney” intervention.
