Sandisk Sansa e140 1GB MP3 Player

I must admit I am an ipod fanboy, not an apple fanboy but I love my 4gb mini and my 80gig video ipod, but I still bought 3 of these today, you just compare the 2 of them, your talking hundred+ $$$$ depending on what model you get compared to cheap priced like these…apples and oranges ya know. ipods sound awesome but I also upgraded my earbuds to sure e3c’s as well. For a cheap small mp3 player I don’t think you could go wrong with this, I got 3 of them so ya know…can always use it as a usb storage device as well. Anyway WOOT ON!

Why is it so freaking big and fugly ?

I listen to the radio so you’re wrong there

man I think that would be a question for sandisk marketing not for us on woot :-/

Who’s wrong where and why?

sorry, another guy said ‘nobody listens to the radio so thats not a plus’ i duno why it didnt appear as a reply

It may be fugly… but it’s not big:

Ahhh ok coolness…yea posts seems kinda weird it said I only had 3 after 2. Yea I like the FM option myself, some of us still actually listen to fm! pretty good deal for simple mp3 player if you ask me, now I’m having a dilemma on SD cards I want to get my father for his. I’ve never had a problem with any sandisk device that uses memory. my first 256meg cruzer flash drive got washed and dried in the laundry, and it has still been working for years now.

I’m in for one. Been looking for an MP3 player for the gym and running for a little bit. Figured I’d try the cheap version. If I don’t like it or it doesn’t work, I can always spend more money and get an ipod.

What kind/brand/model of rechargeable batteries would one recommend for this?

I don’t know about rechargeable, but for my wireless devices like kb’s and mice, flashlights as well, I always use the enrgizer e2 lithium batteries and they last way longer than alkalines, they cost a little more but last so much longer than traditional alkalines the price is worth it. With something like this I really don’t know how much longer they would last but I am sure that the 17 hours is based off of a normal AAA alkaline battery. Perhaps someone else knows about rechargeables.

I do not think it really matters. What matters is to USE rechargeable batteries. I personally use Duracell and some real cheap ones i got off of Geeks.com.

In the old days Panasonic were the ones to use (they last FOREVER!), but i have not seen AAA Panasonics.

“And you can drag and drop onto an Ipod”
^^ Sorry but I had to LOL at that statement.

Do they make this for 8 tracks? LOL, my Mom has like 300 8 tracks. This would be awesome.

Yeah, I know, get some cables and do it that hard way, but I had to ask.

Regardless, this is awesome. (The converter that is)

Drag and Drop is possible on some older iPods. Just not current versions. For those who say you can do it in iTunes, Poo to you. If a program is required its not really Drag and Drop is it? To actually enable drag and drop on an iPod is beyond what the typical user can do.

That’s only because one dosen’t need to chew candy bars that were previously regurgitated.

OK… so it’s 1:10AM EDT and here I sit, anxiously awaiting the next w00t! offering. For some odd reason, I was thinking that the next day’s business, yes, the very next item for sale, occurs at 12:00PM Midnight CDT. Are the hard working w00t!ees imbibng on some foreign alcoholic pleasure solution? Myaybe watching the end of some fabulous oldie but goodie movie like “It’s A Wonderful Life”? In any case, I sit, unfazed and unamused, awaiting what we all hope is that “deal of the century” with the dedication and hautiness of a soldier in search of a cause…

well someone has been boozing don’t know if it’s woot though…it is only 12:17 here on the East side

In case someone is still wondering about rechargeable batteries.

In my personal tests I’ve had better results from Energizer vs. Duracell.

However, I recently discovered RAYOVAC HYBRID RECHARGEABLES at work (Wal-mart) and they are incredible, not to mention affordable (comparatively) They are right around 9 bucks for a 4 pack. I charge them up in my 15 min. Energizer charger that I already had. Beats the pants off of crappy 14-18 hour chargers. I also have a 3 hour charger that works quite well.

That 'splains it then… woke from a deep sleep and apparently I can’t tell time either… going back to bed.
