Sandisk Sansa Fuze 4GB Media Player

Love my 4GB Sansa Fuze. Added a 4GB HDSD card (also a Woot) for 8GB - mainly do podcasts and audiobooks. I did change out headphones but otherwise a great player.

I don’t get these expensive docking stations. I don’t care if the unit fits into some slot. I have good quality computer speakers in my office and several rooms in my house, and I plug the Sansa into them whenever I want music out loud. If I wanted even better music I could get a setup with a woofer for not a lot more, but I am not all that picky.

It doesn’t have a bookmark feature. However, it remembers the last point in the track you were the next time you play it.

I’ve used it with Overdrive and it works well.

that’s a big no, good buddy.

iTunes has completely abandoned DRM for it’s music files. They use 256kb DRM-free AAC files for all of their songs now, and they can be converted to whatever you want using iTunes or whatever other program you may use. Now, if you bought a song more than around a year ago, then it may have DRM if it wasn’t labeled as “iTunes Plus”

Love these little players! I already have an 8GB of these and just ordered a 16GB one. You just can’t go wrong with Sansa. The expansion slot on these is what makes them so valuable, besides the great sound quality, great size, and great price of course

Are you sure? My understanding is that Rhapsody’s service works with this thing, and since Rhapsody also uses protected windows media files, the same as what you get with a Zune pass

This supports SDHC cards also!

Does it support the latest big cards such as the 16GB ones? I’m looking into getting one. Also I was also wondering whether you can acsess both the internal memory and the SD card music when playing.

What capacity SDHC will this support up to?

Just a quick observation:
I have been able to peel that lettering off of the back of the refurbished sansa products that I have bought. It wasn’t actually etched into the back at all but some sort of stuck on lettering. It’s stuck on very well, but it has always come off.

it’s stamped in on this one. you’ll have to cover it.

What the proprietary dock means is that Sansa owns the rights to their dock and doesn’t let anyone else make them. So you won’t find any 3rd party accessories for the player. However, you will be able to transfer music just fine with the cable they give you.
Oh, please. I recently got a bunch of docks on Amazon for like $3.50 each – they charge, sync, and, have audio line-out (obtained via the 30 pin connector). Made by Griffin – a third-party manufacturer. I’ve also bought plenty of charging kits HERE, made by Griffin – a USB wall-wart, a USB car (lighter socket) adapter – both with switching regulators – and, a Sansa-brand 30 pin cable.

I paid 99 cents each.

I also have a docking clock radio, made by Timex – also a third party – which not only plays the Sansa via the dock (while powering and charging it), but, it also includes a wireless remote control (the Sansa is controlled via the dock). I think I paid about $25 for it, here.

And, there’s a more expensive dock, I think it’s by Altec-Lansing, which in addition to providing charging, syncing, and audio line-out, provides wireles remote control like my Timex clock radio.

There are also lots of other third-party accessories, such as docking speaker sets and so forth.

I find it comical that people screech in protest of the “proprietary” 30 pin connector, yet, I hear NO such ranting over APPLE using the SAME connector (with a different shaped end piece to prevent cross-connection) – AND, an equally proprietary Itunes system (whereas THESE players can be used with ANY computer that can handle a USB jump drive).

This player is a steal at this price. We got another one, it’ll be a gift for a relative.

I use Super (free from erightsoft) to convert videos to .avi. make sure you set frame rate to 30 fps Then use sansa media converter to convert and transfer to the fuze. I’m sure there are a number of ways to do what you want (I hear a lot about video4fuze), but this method works perfectly for me.
video4fuze actually removes a step - no need for SMC. It converts and sends files to your Fuze.

I got the 2GB fuse also, but dang if I can’t double my internal pleasure!

Sansa says “No”. Oh well it will still be good for a flight activity

yes, it is very small and goes in your ear…

Will this work with my Sansa player?

oh…i see what you did there!

Just reveived my 2g one from woot last night and no card!-( Used it today at gym and its awesome. Would buy 3 for presents if they weren’t refurbs with no packaging.

Isn’t being a customer doing business with woot?

Does this work with Windows 7?
