Of course now I need to drink 2 bottles before it arrives!!! Luckily, zTByrdz is having a party this weekend, so I can bring one or two there. He’s used to it by now. ![]()
Can the infestation of labrats come back now?
Last offer on 2/16/11 was $70 for 3, so this comes out to approximately the same per bottle (give or take a couple of dollars when shipping is factored in). Same vintage.
I drank a bottle on 9/8/11 and remember thinking it needed some more bottle time (or possibly more air time). I didn’t take notes, so I don’t remember why I thought it, just that I didn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped.
The 2007 is $38 at the winery.
But there’s no 2008 listed.
Searching the internet, I found this: •Wine Spectator gave a rating of 91 out of 100 to the 2008 Saxon Brown Zinfandel Sonoma Valley One Oak.
Just read thru the --5-- pages of comments from the prior offer. Wooters own CT comments and holdings. Lot’s of old time wooters chiming in, compared to Corison, and it was a sell-out @ 300 woots. Now Sparky is the first sucker, did mill get in, and I sit with a four digit CC whack from last month.
Sigh, two more.
I was assuming that “One Oak” referred to the vineyard but don’t see that listed as one of Saxon Brown’s vineyards on their website. Possibly a reference to the cooperage which isn’t detailed in the item description? Or just chosen as a name for some other reason?
EDIT: I guess it is the vineyard name after all, I can juuust make out “One Oak Vineyard” on the label in the enlarged product picture.

maybe all the vines are grafted onto the roots of one oak tree?
Always a battle to secure Jeff’s wine. A real pleasure to have Saxon Brown back on board.

Fight to get more semillon
Had never had it before, wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was delicious!
At first I thought it used to be twin oaks but one got run over by a delorean. Then I remembered those were pines
I will try some, at the risk of making my wife irate. We have been drinking a bit more wine lately , but our space is limited and I do have a bunch of gewurtz on the way.
But its all starting to come together. Last night we finished off a bottle of the wellington, then went to a bottle of something she picked up from the store, and she commented on how much better the Wellington was.
No shipping to Vermont or New Hampshire? What gives! If this is what 2012 brings I want to send it back.
Gee it only took Mark D 16 seconds to buy. Well in for two.
Georgia is feeling a bit unloved. It seems since the new year, none of the wine offers is available in my state. What gives?
Same for Connecticut…
No Yankee love??
Perhaps a stupid question, but what is a Black Tie Buy?
WOOT! What a great way to kick off the new year as a Wine Woot addict. Only 175 cases? In for 3!!
Happy New Year, Everyone!
OH! And I really want to thank Jeff Gaffner
