Update
Could be an ink change possibly…some inks are much better than others…As others mentioned, preTreat or dryers could also be the issue…
Also in some cases depending on the design DyeSub is better for lighter colored shirts…
In earlier days I worked with screen print and HTV, both are more suited for larger runs due to the setup involved for those methods…DTG/DTF/DyeSub are much easier to make one-off runs of individual designs…
High level on the different methods here…
So sad.
Are you wearing propper ppe?
I wasn’t aware that Woot sold Purple People Eaters…? Or that they were wearable!
@ThunderThighs I’ve had 2 Woot! shirts completely lose the print within just a couple of washes. Is there anything that can be done?
I bought two shirts as a part of the buy two and get flask deal. Unfortunately, they got here today and one of them flaked out right out the bag. The other one flakes when I rub it a bit. If I request replacement shirts will it mess with my flask?
Honestly, I kind of surprised. I have bought 13 shirts and these are the only two have flakes. I did notice they are they’re much shinier than the other 11 shirts. I’m wondering if whatever cause that sheaniness is why it didn’t set properly.
Write to Woot’s CS and show them pictures of the flakey areas. They’ll probably replace those two shirts. You’ll have to upload the photos to Imgur or somewhere since you can’t send them via the contact form.

Again just wanted to say nobody quite has the art like Woot but then you feel the pain of love lost but then you feel like the sucker in that poem about it being better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all
Ouch.
Yeah I’m not sure what they used before when shirts were cheaper, but they were better.
I’ve heard woot is workshopping some new slogans with these t-shirts
Standout so far is
Double the price, half the quality.
What laundry soap do people use? Just curious as mine 10 or so tshirts have I feel aged but not peeled like the examples shown. Ive just recently switched to Tide.
You’ll know if you get a bad shirt. The design will appear thick and crusty even before washing.
Don’t forget sticky.
Just got one of the two that I ordered last Friday…It seems like the print is OK and not sticky.

Still waiting for the second one.

We’ll see how they hold up…
I used to run a Vinyl Graphics side business including signs/shirts/etc. and have worked with screen printers in the distant past…Quality of direct printing is definitely hit or miss depending on the inks…
Same thing was true with HTV (vinyl). We had some inferior HTV that I ended up just throwing out b/c it wouldn’t last…
It’s better to spend a little more for quality raw materials to end up with a better finished product for the customer even it means smaller profit margins…
How does that jibe with Woot’s shirt problems?
If/when I ever get another woot shirt, I’m going to take a picture of it before/after every wear/wash.
