No, you don’t. Especially if you are going to spend any length of time looking through them. Unless you have a tripod, anything over 8x is very tiring to hold steady. Anything over 12 is about impossible to look through with just your arms, unless the FOV is huge (read $$$$).
The price on these would make them a nice entry level for a beginner birder who could then bug the birding lists jpegs of unidentified birds.
Or take pics at a ball game.
To mimic sniper shootings is really in poor taste…in light of all the school shootings.

Why try to show a geek dealing with geeky issues that any number of our cool, rolex-wearing, 60" tv watching, centerfold-dating woot customers would laugh at in anyhting other than a typically geeky and anti-social way.

These are great as camouflaged cameras, for venues such as concerts where you can use binocs, but are not allowed to take pictures.
ZOOM ??? the specs do not say zoom…this is a fixed 8x30, 1.3mp digital camera…pretty good deal for about 30 bucks, especially with christmas around the corner…

I was reading some reviews on this binocular (some for this one and some for a version made by Meade) and there was a lot said about there not being an on-off switch in this. They tell you to take the batteries out when you’re not using it. !!!
Others say that the battery connections are bad. Other people said that they wouldn’t work after a short time, and I think maybe it’s the battery issues. Anyway, they seem sorta lame.
