Who does the refurbishing? I assume not sony. Is it reliable?
In this case, I would guess it was whomever was contracted by this “eReplacements” company that is listed for the warranty.
I have purchased a number of refurbished products on Woot over the years, and I would often say that they were as good as new, or very close to it. This included LG OLED televisions, Sony earbuds (like the earlier XM4 model, which is still going strong, well over a year after purchase), Apple devices (watch, a couple phones, and an iPad)… Most of these were in pretty good condition, and I don’t regret having taken that gamble. But there is inherently some risk, just like some new products will be dead on arrival. But Woot is usually pretty good about helping with those cases, and then you need to watch for who holds any extra warranty, if anyone.

Hi there. Click here for our guide to the various conditions and their definitions.
This was refurbished by one of our vendors.
I received a pair of WF-1000XM4s instead. I’m assuming I’m not the only person.
Sorry about that. Haven’t heard of others at this time so may be a one off from the vendor.
