Can someone explain to me how the prizes work for this? What does the designer get? I’ve bought 4 of these shirts and I still don’t know what drives their creation.

I like the shirt. Nice, simple yet thoughtful, design, and the overall color scheme is not that bad. I am not in the market for a cranberry colored shirt considering I already have a couple in the rotation right now.

Wow, this shirt really made some last-minute progress I guess! Last time I checked there was a blue shirt with a very pretty tropical design that was way out in front by over 100 votes.

Every week there is a Derby with a specific theme. We enter, wooters who have purchased once vote for their idea as to the best piece. We find out the theme Thursday at 12pm* and we can enter as early as Friday 12pm. Last entries are due Wednesday by 12pm and final votes are tallied Thursday at 12pm (same day as the next derby theme is announced) The top 4 do not know how many votes they have as they sit in a FOG where those numbers are kept secret. Thursday night (Friday 12am CST) they announce the first place winner, Friday night is 2nd place, and Saturday is 3rd place. The 4th in the FOG does not get printed except in special circumstances.
first, second and third each win $1000 and have the opportunity to sell out 2000 shirts within 24 hrs. After their first day of printing, the shirt changes price from $10 to $15 and the designer makes $2 from every shirt after the first 24 hrs. It stays in a top 27 best shirts and the bottom 7 shirts (based on sales) get cut every week. The better the sales, the longer the shirt sits in the list and allows people to continue purchasing the shirt.

Voting for the last derby was over 12 hours ago. The fox shirt you’re talking about finished 17th (if I remember correctly). But the fox will be returning in the next derby with a puppy friend and some typographical humour…
