Did not find this brand on the mothership. Wondering about reviews…
They start by saying “bone conduction” then slide to “open air” and stuff which isn’t bone-conducted. Inconsistent tease. I’ll be curious to read reviews, comments from hands-on use. May regret missing an opportunity (not much).
I would guess that these are not bone conduction earphones. The photos of the guy and girl wearing them clearly show they are right over the ear vs being on the temple.
Been using bone conduction by after shokz for last few months. Sound quality is pretty bad no stereo effects on Spotify or any music at all. Tempted to try this for 1/8th the price of after shokz.
shokz overrated. clever to get into sporting goods stores.
try oladance. not cheap but really really good sound.
ymmv
2-3 hours is a clear >no go for me for battery life… they might sound great but if i can only enjoy them for a short period of time im sure theres better options even at its low price point. I work a 8 and sometimes 12 hour shift so that’s what im basing my opinion on. If your thinking about buying them for a short workout then i would say sure give them a try for the price.
They don’t look like they truly do bone conduction. They also look bulky.
I like how the title and features don’t match any of the photos at all, no mention of bone conduction on the box either.
I’d agree that for quality listening up to audiophile, Shocks (as they’re now called) are not going to do it.
You’re paying for the established brand and reputable lifespan. Bone conduction style is a niche of it’s own for those who need both unobstructed ambient hearing and the ability to have digital audio connectivity.
I bought Bone Conduction (shocks) for 2 reasons
- Parent, hearing kids while enjoying music/videos
- Field Technician, can call or enjoy music while working and hear what’s going on around me so I don’t get snuck up on by an animal or miss someone yelling for me.
Unique cases but very useful.
Yeah I’ve had 2 pairs of aftershockz since 2019. Battery lasts almost the full day. Comfortable, you forgot you’re wearing them. Use them at work to when biking and kayaking. Great for podcasts but even music sounds good (my brain seems to fill in some of the missing high and low frequencies that aren’t efficient to product, though so ear plugs or moving the transducers closer to the ears can improve the sound greatly).
These things only have a 2-3 hr battery life and seem to just be regular speakers that sit further from the head.
Bome conduction wouldn’t have a port directed at the ear. @ThunderThighs, can we get a ruling?
I don’t know anything about these, but I love my Shokx and have four pairs. No, they don’t have the best sound, but I mostly use them for listening to YouTube and podcasts. They stay on me head without having to worry about them falling off. For serious music listening I use my Sony, Bose, or Grado’s.
That’s what the manufacturer calls it.
Tech Theory Air Space Open Ear Bone Conduction Wireless Headphones – Aduro Products
I’ve used Aftershokz for years to listen to podcasts while cycling. I’d be skeptical of these - they say “ear bone conduction” in one part of the description, and then “air conduction” later on. I suspect it’s earphone → air in ear canal → earbone, rather than earphone → skull → earbone like aftershokz. If so, this would limit their ability to provide the user with the ability to hear the environment as well as true bone conduction headphones. As a cyclist who needs to hear my environment, these would be a No.
Are these for boneheads?
Do they have active noise cancellation?
Minbari?
I just received them in the mail a few minutes ago. I decided $15 I’ll try them. They’re bs speakers aimed at your ears. These have nothing to do with bone conduction. Their description is so horrible lol
The title that these are “bone conduction “ is a straight up lie” it’s a good thing I paid pocket change or I would raise hell.
Huh?
Conehead?
