Bought august 10, has been preparing for shipment since at least the 12th if not earlier, but no tracking yet. Are they waiting until the sale on this item ends before they start sending units out?

No. Our vendor will ship them out soon, I’m sure.

Just got it and installed, noisier than my previous unit. Smells like lady parts at the start, not sure if I’ve gotten used to it or it was just a new smell and it’s worn off. Window part clips in, but in doing so has air gaps, so you will need to find a way to seal that. As with all units like this it’s easier to seal from the outside, so when I can I will be getting a ladder and doing that.

Didn’t take too long to get cool, air coming out went down to 57.7°F and bounced up to 59.4°F, I don’t know why.

My previous units, a GE then a HiSense, did not need draining as the moisture would go out the vent, hopefully that’s the case here too. Fingers crossed it is able to get my room below 84°F during the day, it has twice the BTU of the HiSense which was unable to do that but an Amazon reviewer claims the BTU is inaccurate.

Edit: my room is 132 sqft, and this unit rated for 350 is not cooling my room as well as the previous unit rated for 150. I think the guy on Amazon who said it had inaccurate BTU is correct.

So far I’m really disappointed. I did reseal the window and it hasn’t helped. We have had a constant 100°F high and the old unit got my room down to 83°, this one is 86°.

Did you let the unit sit upright for 24 hours before turning on? It’s typically in the instructions that none of us read. This is to allow the freon to return to the appropriate state after being mucked up during transit.

It was delivered upright but this is true, I did not. I have returned the old unit to service and it is blowing 6°F colder than the other unit.

Fortunately the new hose fits fine on the old unit (HiSense), so that was relatively painless.

Testing will resume later! (I do think that since these are refurbs there are strong odds that the reason this unit was returned may still be present).

It took just over a year but apparently it’s got a refrigerant leak now because of the strong acetone smell.
