This looks oddly similar to my Whynter ARC-1230WNH, with the the only noticeable differences being that the button icons are different (but the same exact button, placement, and functions) and that the air output vent is of different design…
That being said, my Whynter works quite well, the tube-in-tube desing is amazing because it’s pulling air directly through the tube to vent the condenser instead of using inside air (which usually pulls outside air through openings somewhere else bringing unwanted outside air inside).
Does this come product come with window kit?
Yes!
I see it says you can get the Asurion extended but the link takes me to choose the plan for it.
How long do I have to add it (does it have to be bought at the same time)?
Im wanting to order a unit right now but cant be sure im selecing the right plan.
Here’s the link to more information about Asurion.
It also looks identical to the Midea MAP14HS1TWT unit that I bought at Costco about a month ago. Like yours, mine seems to work well - I especially appreciate the inverter design, which makes it a lot quieter when it isn’t running full blast. The only downside is that the dual-tube exhaust trunk is massive, so it needs to be right in front of the window and you don’t have much flexibility in angling it. But other than that I’m totally happy with mine.
I bought one last year and love it. Very quiet, but works well.
Yeah, I have a Midea unit I got at costco last year… looks EXACTLY the same… I even compared the manual… pretty much swap Midea with Toshiba
Great unit! Sooooooo much better than any single hose non-inverter… not even in the same league.
Hi Woot-- long time fan and purchaser here! Do you know how this item is shipped?
I’d like to purchase and ship to Virginia, but, I had read some reports of products being used-like and damaged. I am trying to assess the likelihood of a bulky return fee ($50) and hoping for success instead. TIA
PS: Where I read this information was a deal website. Also, great fair price for an awesome unit!
You can name names here. Where did you read about damaged units?
Woot doesn’t censor unduly has been my experience so a third party complainer website could just be simply be filled with sock puppets.
What products and did you research their respective Woot forum posts?
…
Yeah, well. .
I appreciate Woot so much for being transparent. I read this on Slickdeals, it’s a current thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/16850612-refurbished-toshiba-14-000-btu-12-000-btu-doe-inverter-dual-hose-in-hose-wi-fi-portable-air-conditioner-w-heat-up-to-550-sq-ft-349-99
That being said, I’m about to purchase!
Hi there. Most likely it will ship UPS.
Thank you! Looking forward to this
Mine came today, via UPS. It has clearly been returned as there are cosmetic scuffs and such on the outside. With that said, for the price it cannot be beat. It works beautifully, connected to the app without a problem, and the dual hose feature (hose within a hose as they call it) is awesome to not have negative pressure.
The window kit was straightforward with all pieces and parts included. Running with it on high is still pretty quiet thanks to the inverter.
I dont see us using it for anything besides AC but it does have heat, fan, and dehumidify modes too.
I ran the diagnostic in the app and it only showed 1 thing I’m keeping an eye on… (current limit frequency was abnormal once but is now okay).
I say go for it. Brand new its 649 at the big orange box store.
I got the unit, but some of the parts in the window kit were crushed in transit. Who should I contact for new parts?
When I downloaded the app, it specifically mentioned the name “Midea” on the page.
Its essentially the same… the parts & schematics are direct part-for-part with Midea. My app says Toshiba, though. Mine came with the window kit pieces literally loose in the top of the box shaking and moving around the entire time but thankfully none broken that I can tell. I think if youre needing replacement parts you can find them by part number easier than trying by description.
See if any of these help… I put the part number followed by description.
︎ 12120600006265 is air exhaust duct connector (the piece that clips holding the hose into the window kit)
︎ 12120600006258 is entire exhaust hose subassembly
︎ 12020600A00322 is installation kit subassembly (looks like the window panels pieces)
︎ 12120600006251 is air exhaust duct connector (a plastic round ring)
︎ 12120600006605 is air exhaust duct connector (a larger round piece bigger than previous one)
Ive been running mine since the day it came and my oh my what a difference!
Im in northwest Florida so we have been hitting 95-100°F daily (with heat index around 112°F not unheard of). This thing is a game changer for sure. It is helping my central system keep the back half of my house cool (living room, kitchen, & dining room). I can control it now with remote, the app, and Alexa. I can set geofence so it turn off/on auto depending on if I’m going or coming.
I will be sealing up the window better around the window kit as well as covering the hose with an insulating wrap but so far so good. Love it! Im still unsure about if it requires draining, though, as some have said it rarely does because it uses the condensation to help cool internally while others say to drain it every other day.
Thanks so much, Woot, for having such an AWOOTING deal on this thing!
