Toshiba e405 Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 2003 Pro

The remote program?

FYI (Free to try; $14.95 to buy). You have like 14 days, or like 30 times to open and use the program. Different programs have different ways of regulating the use.
cool thanks… threw it up in the first post for others.

One of my friends did some funky mods to one of his PDA’s and turned it into a universal remote. hehehe
Actually, thats a program thats available to most PDAs. I used to have it on my palm pilot. Was a cool program, and it had a “learn” function. Aim the remote at the IR, and it would learn the comand of that remote. This would be awesome in a class while watching a movie. Before class, quickly “learn” the power on/off function (takes like 3 seconds to do). Then while the movie is playing, use your palm pilot to turn the tv on and off at random times.
Yes, it is available now…however, he did his mod like about seven or so years ago as a senior project. I thought it was pretty cool.

just letting u all know that toshiba’s support for their software AND hardware is practically non-existant. Read some reviews if u don’t believe me.

too bad I reported my card lost and now I have to wait until I get a new one

not bad
but it’s reconditioned… :frowning:
I will NEVER EVER buy a Toshiba PDA again! I bought a full setup… e740, extra power adapters, extra batteries, extra SD cards, etc., for around $600 (because it had built-in WiFi and awesome specs). Then Microsoft releases an upgrade to the PocketPC software 45 days after I buy the damn thing… and Toshiba refuses to release an upgrade path for it. :x

Toshiba customer service said, "…we are not required to, so we aren’t going to… ", so here I am with a PDA frozen in time, that can’t run newer videos, can’t use newer software, can’t do crap. The iPaqs that came out at the same time are still current with the PocketPC OS.

Thank God I got SD Cards that work in my TapWave Zodiac 8) (that runs on the Palm OS and plays videos and surfs the net beautifully). Don’t make a mistake here… I LOVE Woot, but Toshiba sucks ass.
In fact there were MANY Pocket PC 2002 PDA’s out there that were NOT upgreadable to PPC 2003. HP was one of the “nicest” companies, to offer a 30$ upgrade for most of their models, but, still, not all of them. So, even an iPaq user could complain about HP not offering upgrades.
Anyway, Toshiba is already offering a Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition upgrade for free for the e405. Get it from the Toshiba website.

Does anyone know offhand where one could find a Wi-Fi adapter for this? I did a quick search (while doing homework) but can’t seem to turn anything up. Thanks!

for all of you who are worried about it being a refurb DON’T!! When something is refurbished you KNOW it is going to work because someone has actually taken time to make it work like it should. My digi cam was a refurb from overstock and it works great. I have a friend that had a new one of the same model and theirs lasted only 2 months. Mine is in perfect working order and I have had it since June!

LooL!!!

Also, man didn’t land on the moon. It was all staged in a barn or something. Besides, if we had indeed landeded on the moon, cheese prices would have fallen dramatically!

The Sandisk SDIO Wifi card sells for about 70$

Damn I’m never prepared for the good ones! :x

I agree it’s much better for us all for you to buy brand new items. : )
its a good thing i read the forums before i buy:
i was about to buy it; very, very about to buy it… and then i saw the refurb part. man that sucks. i just don’t do refurbs… the whole 90 thing. Oh well, w00t, send more good new stuff!
and do more w00t-offs. i stayed up all night during the last one, but they’re cool. DO THEM!!!
I think it’s best for everyone for you to buy brand NEW stuff. : ) thanks. just keep buying
the brand new stuff.

NO. But woot is usually cheap enough that you can dump it on eBay and make money
more than you paid for it
