The bowls aren’t microwave safe? Very sad.

Party anywhere! As long as there is Tupperware!

Woot asked us a few months back if we had Tupperware. I guess they figured we needed some.

Throw in a model sail boat and I’ll think about it.

Cool set with newer colors. I remember the old brown, yellow, and green ? ones my mom used…

Love all my Tupperware but alas know someone who sells already.

I have Tupperware I bought in 1979 that I still use everyday. And yeah, it’s the old brown, yellow and green.

You can microwave Tupperware containers manufactured after 2010,* but the company recommends limiting heating time to less than 3 minutes**. Tupperware’s products manufactured before 2010 contain BPA that can leach into your food when exposed to high heat.

I have this set in the old yellow, orange and green colorway but have stopped using it because of all the warnings about all the plastics we ingest compliments of using plastics, from prepackaged food items in the store to how we store our food. I only use glass storage containers now.

Nope! Decent containers, but horrible company and customer service. Ordered a colander from a school sale ~ 30 years ago. Got the colander, but without the lid. Contacted Tupperware by phone and they acted like I was trying to get over on them. I will never buy any Tupperware ever again.

Luckily, Woot! customer service would never leave a Wooter lidless.

I thought it was Goonies that never die, but in your case, I’ll go with grudges :grimacing:

They’re kinda expensive. Glass food containers are cheaper and better.

It’s tough for me to see why someone would choose plastic food containers over glass nowadays. Glass containers have no issues with microwaving, they don’t warp over time/in the dishwasher, you can see what’s in them at a glance, the only BPA issues would be with lids, and they are non-porous (no stains or residual flavors/scents).

I guess plastic could better if you’re worried about breakage with kids?

Too heavy for camping.

Just curious, how many times do you allow a company to cheat you before you stop doing business with them? Are you or someone close to you associated with the Tupperware brand?

My list is not that long (in chronological order, which happens to also be in order of severity):

  1. Merrill Lynch. I asked my broker in Panama City, FL for a conservative investment recommendation for the profits from my last time playing with options. She recommended a new issue, American Saving and Loan, convertible preferred just before the Savings and Loan crisis broke. I later read an article in the Boston Globe detailing Merrill Lynch’s reputation for withholding Floor Days from brokers who did not meet quotas for sales of new issues. If a broker has to sell something she doesn’t have faith in, is she going to push it on a young AF lieutenant with a small account or a multi-million dollar account? (Bank of America, who was pressured by the government to buy Merrill Lynch after the 2008 financial collapse, has recently decided to drop the Merrill Lynch name.)

  2. Midas. They sold me new brake rotors and calipers for a 3 or 4 year old Mazda when I took it to them for an inspection in Boston. Mazda dealer informed me I had been ‘Midas-ized.’

  3. Goodyear Tire and Rubber. I bought a lifetime alignment agreement with a set of Vector tires in San Antonio. They said I needed new bearings the first time I took it in for an alignment. A friend and fellow AF captain who rebuilt cars for a hobby told me to ask for my old parts. They conveniently threw out the part that would have shown any wear. I have bought Michelin tires for 38 years.

  4. Tupperware.
