I has it. And I generally like it. Iād be happy to answer any questions.
How long do the batteries usually last?
Does the lock responds quickly to the fingerprint and codes?
Thank you
Iāve been very happy with the battery life.
The fingerprint sensor barely works at all, if only to register āREDā and not actually open.
The keypad works great, and has been convenient.
The hinged aspect of the keypad is starting to become problematic, and falls down more and more often.
And, this is super important, MAKE SURE your strike plate is lined up pretty straight on - this lock does NOT have the torque to pull itself or the door into frame.
For example, if you have excellent weather stripping in the door jamb, and your door is a nice tight fit, this lock may not work great for you.
Iāve given up on the ālocking it while Iām not thereā aspect due to its inability to fully lock itself without someone pulling the door into the weatherstripping. This is even after I hogged out the strike plate, and moved it closer to dead on with the new lock.
So, there you go. If you have questions, ask away.
This works great for me. We are very happy with it. The fingerprint reader is a little iffy but itās still faster (for us) than having to use keys, even if it takes a couple of tries. I donāt like the auto close function - it seems Iām closing the door with the dead bolt out all the time and it makes an ugly āthudā when you do that, of course. But you can disable that, which I am thinking of doing. I may buy a second oneā¦
Mine has been running in the original 4 AAs for about 8 months now, so thumbs up there.
Iād echo that the fingerprint reader is quick, but sometimes takes an extra attempt if your angle is off in touching it. Codes work immediately too. Auto-unlock with bluetooth is a bit flakey⦠itās awesome when it works, frustrating when it doesnāt and youāre standing there staring at it with an armload of groceries. Bluetooth auto-unlock works for me about 60-70% if the time.
Hey there! Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the fingerprint sensor and keypad. This is definitely not the experience we want our customers to have. Please email support@u-tec.com or call 844-439-8832 from 9 AM to 6 PM PST Monday to Friday, we are here to help.
Have you used the Auto Unlock feature at all?
Looks like it unlocks when your phone is in range?
Yep, see my comments here: Ultraloq U-Bolt Pro Smart Deadbolt - #6 by gfudala
Iād also add that the auto-unlock has a potentially unwanted side-effect. If you leave the area then return, but you happen to enter through a different door (garage, for example), the ultraloq door will still automatically unlock. Just something to stay aware of if you enable auto-unlock.
If you have a doorknob (with or without lock), its latch can be adjusted to hold the door closed enough for the deadbolt to move freely. If there is no doorknob with latch, you could add one.
Can I hear more about the fingerprint reader? It sounds like there have been some concerns and I would want to use the fingerprint reader as our primary means of entering. We have kids that are old enough for us to trust with enrolling their fingerprints, but we also have kids young enough to enjoy shouting codes to the neighborhood when we are coming home.
Also, can anyone tell me if the keyway is one of the usual suspects? (Schlage?, Kwikset?, Something else?) Would like to repin this or the back door to match each other. Thanks!
I purchased the Ultraloq deadbolt and it works great. My previous fingerprint deadbolt had difficulty reading the fingerprints. The Ultraloq picks up the fingerprint immediately and opens and locks the door instantaneously. I am very happy with this product and the pricing was very affordable. Looking forward to many years of use with this deadbolt door lock.
