What do you think of the new astrology sign, Ophiuchus?

It’s not a new thing. It was there when the other 12 signs were named. It was merely ignored by the ancients crafting astrology. Other missed or ignored things? Gyroscopic precession of the earth. Huh? The earth spins like a top, and like a spinning top, it wobbles on the polar axis. That precession takes roughly 2,000 years per sign, meaning the signs don’t stay. They are always drifting more and more away from the starting point. Again, huh? Recall a song from around the 1960s or 70s called the Age of Aquarius? Astrology parameters have been drifting further off from the starting point until the drift is now one house off, roughly 30 degrees. It’s easier to describe and understand with charts and graphs.

Science is at the core of how the Zodiac is divided into a twelve-fold division of the ecliptic, so that each sign spans 30° of celestial longitude, approximately the distance the Sun travels in a month. (Thank you Wikipedia!)
Without a basic scientific foundation there would be no astrology as we know and love it.

Astrology: home of some of the world’s oldest con artists. “Born under this sign, you are fiercely loyal and passionate about the things you think are important. Sometimes you can be a little bit quick to make a decision but overall people rely on you every day.” I just described like 4 billion people.

It’s still fun though!

There’s enough constellations. Why not add 12 more signs instead of just one? It’s all man-made and arbitrary.
