Howdy. Unless stated as NEW, all our phones are refurbished. Some will also be scratch-n-dent meaning that they’re refurbished and have more scratchies and denties than our regular phones would.

Here’s our guide:

I still have not seen any explanation for the distinction between “scratch and dent” and “refurbished scratch and dent”. You make the buyer pick one or the other, they are the same price, but we have no way of knowing which to purchase based on any published description of the differences between these two options. If all are refurbished, then why have one set of phones that specifically mention being refurbished and the others only called scratch and dent? Please tell me how you sort out the phones into two bins, ones labeled scratch and dent and the other bin with refurbished scratch and dent. There must be some difference since you make the buyer pick one category or the other.

She said it already. Some might have more wear. Let’s read it again shall we?

Some might have more scratches and dents? Okay, but you didn’t say which. Both choices say scratch and dent, so refurbished scratch and dent have MORE scratches and dents than plain old scratch and dent, or the other way around? Why not just make the two choices have labels like “lots of scratches and dents” and “a few less scratches and dents”. I still don’t know which bin has more scratches and dents.

Ah, I see. Hm. Guess I need to read moar better too. My bad.

Maybe if you give me links to two phones that are confusing you, I can better help you.

Most likely, we’re just inconsistent in the way they’re listed. We’re not great at consistency.

Not two phones, just one phone, iphone 12 pro max, when you have to select which flavor from the drop down menu you have to pick either “scratch and dent” or “refurbished scratch and dent”. If all of the phones are refurbished, than why do you have to pick between those, they are both refurbished scratch and dent, yet, somebody at the fulfillment center has to pick either one or the other to put in the shipping box, so there must be some difference.

Totally understand the confusion - but would you mind sharing a link to the listing you’re talking about? It can help TT with clarifying with the specific vendor about if there’s actually a difference. Most likely she’s right, we’re not great at consistency. :frowning: So sorry about that!

, so there must be some difference.

Or, they all come from the same bin and the person who programmed the page just left a choice dropdown in place on a cut-and-paste page template instead of turning off the select function… and choice dropdowns need choices, so…

I think it’s this one. The condition drop down is offering two choices.

Refurbished, Scratch-n-Dent

it was an error in the listing. There’s no difference in the conditions. Should be fixed shortly.

It’s woot math where 50% of respondents selected that option instead of 50% of selections were that option.

I use that list when picking out boyfriends from Craigslist.
