Honey. Although when I was a kid my mom would make blackberry jam from wild berries that we would pick. When it was finished cooking she would skim off the bubbles from the top prior to canning. She called the skimmed portion poison (I don’t know why) and we used to put it on buttered toast. It was heavenly.

Thank you for posting this.
I’ve been eating our homemade preserves all this time, thinking it’s Jam.
We make mostly blueberry & raspberry preserves, though my wife also makes a seedless blackberry jam that’s really good.

For me it’s either Jelly or Preserves, depending on which fruit it is and what I’m using to deliver it to my mouth.

Thatz plane rood!

You and everyone in Wisconsin. I’ve had at least a dozen varieties (homemade, farmers market, grocery store) and tbh the store bought one was my “favorite.” The texture yacks me out (the misnomer “butter” doesn’t help) and my assumption is all the concentrated apples overload my tastebuds, because they are all impossibly bland. Just a waste of some great apple sauce if you ask me. No offense meant, I’m clearly the misfit here. I guess, maybe I’m just hoping to meet ANYONE that agrees with me that the stuff is incredibly overhyped. I’m so very very alone on this.

Real fruit is all I care about…
