Who killed the BACK design zip hoodies?

I have been using Woot for a long time, and I have been out of the loop for a while, but WTF, guys? What happened to BACK designs on Zip Hoodies?
We used to be able to buy Zip Hoodies with designs on the back! I have examples in case nobody there remembers! Friends and even complete strangers ask about our zip hoodies and we have always referred them to Woot. What idiots they must think we are! n.b. We’re not.
Apparently the Powers That Be think people keep their hoodies ZIPPED all the time.
It’s not true. And a design on the front of an unzipped hoodie looks like caca.
While I would love the option to have back printing on EVERYTHING, it’s really an issue for me with zip hoodies. And while I don’t know when back printing was discontinued, I have a pretty good idea WHY. Like most decisions in the world
It was probably based on reduced profit, also known as rising costs. So it takes a few seconds to turn the hoodie over before printing? A robot can’t do it?
Please forward this suggestion to the people who make decisions on what designs will be offered on more than t-shirts.

Welllllllllllllllllllllllll,

When we moved to digital print, we no longer printed one design a day. It was easy to focus and say ok, remember, print this on the back.

Each printer prints a different design on different shirt types. And we now have a catalog of designs that you can choose from.

Finding a way to indicate something should print on the back - turn over the garment - has been troublesome. From what I understand, they tried messages, flashing screens, etc. but no luck.

So we print on the front. Maybe some day it might change but not for now.

Thank you for posting this @moonbeamchaos! I’ve thought the same thing about the zip up hoodies, as well as the pull over kangaroo pocket hoodies. I happily second your point about not being able to see the design on a zip up! I mostly never see a zip up worn fully zipped up… Most people zip them half way, still distorting the image broken into two sides and usually folded open… So what’s the point?? And pull over hoodies can limited by the stitching of the kangaroo side pockets - and can’t be printed over them, depending on the stock of sweatshirt used.

Mainly, I think people prefer the picture on the back. Even better is the picture print on the back - and a little mini picture decor on the front side so that it’s not just a naked plain shirt… A small label, badge, mini pic, etc.

I’ve been asking about this since 2020 … sadness, because there are so many cool shirts /hoodies I’d own otherwise.
Either design is split when hoodie isn’t zipped up, or if you’re short (ahem), the t-shirt design is nearer belt line than neck.
There have to be manufacturers that can help y’all fix this ….

Hear hear, back artwork on zip hoodies!!
I wanted two hoodies and now I am not buying them because the pic would go on the front?? TeePublic can do it, why can’t you…

I tried calling a buddy of mine that works at TeePublic to see how they do it. Unfortunately he is not spilling their secrets.

In all seriousness, we would love to offer our designs on the back of zip hoodies. It sounds like a simple task but there are a few (hundred) things that are in the works that will have to happen first.
