Time to check out the product page on the WG307.1 and great reviews (4.6 out of 5.0) over at homedepot.com

And check out the product page on the WG308.1 and a “B+” review over at chainsawsdirect.com

I bought one, I was somewhat disappointed at that it was not very balanced. It is front heavy where the chainsaw goes and the extension rod feels very flimsy. But it cuts well and very fast.

This is the only product I have ever bought after having seen it on an infomercial. (I didn’t call the number on the screen, however: I got a refurb from Worx off eBay.) What convinced me to buy this was the safety built into its design. It won’t operate unless both your hands are in the rear, far from the cutting chain. This is not a heavy duty chain saw. It’s for pruning limbs and small shrubs, and does that quickly and safely. With the extension pole, and average size man can safely trim limbs about 10 to 11 feet above the ground. (Please don’t stand directly under the limb, or you may wind up like the car in that Allstate commercial.) But don’t buy this thinking you can replace a chain saw.

I have one of these and it’s a good product for what it’s designed for. Pruning bushes and trees when you need something more than a regular hedge clipper. I would not get the extension. It’s almost impossible to balance the heavy cutting end with the extension piece attached.

These WORX saws are amazing. I have them and at first was a bit skeptical. But I have now used them to cut up limbs on trees that I have cut down. These WORX saws are now my tool of choice any time what I am cutting up is smaller than about four inches in diameter. These WORX saws are much safer than ordinary chain saws which I also have. You can’t go wrong purchasing this WORX saw!!!

If you need a tool like this for doing tree work then you shouldn’t be doing it at all. Call a professional. You’ll get injured a flimsy piece of junk like this.

My experience with this brand is NOT GOOD. If you are considering buying one of these, stop, pick up the phone and call your local Stihl dealer…or call a tree surgeon to do the work for you. It is no coincidence that WORX has the same number of letters in the name as CRAP.

For the 2 posters above me, what exactly is wrong with this device? Seems useful to me. To suggest to call a “professional” to cut small branches out of a tree who would charge you more than the cost of this device itself seems kind of foolish. Who needs a professional to cut small to medium size branches? This thing isn’t designed to cut down whole trees where there is an actual danger involved.

I bought the Worx JawSaw at my local super-sized hardware store. I already had an electric chainsaw, but this Worx saw is way easier to use. I don’t get the comments about it being too heavy. Most of my cutting was on branches on the ground. You cut them once over your head, and then 10 times on the ground. That’s where this saw is awesome. It’s so much quicker, easier, and safer than a regular chainsaw. It self feeds its oil, and it doesn’t bounce around or get bound in the cut like a standard chain saw. The jaws hold the branch in place so that even the last cut on a piece of branch is a breeze. Hire a professional to cut small trees and shrubs? Please!

Anyone have experience with using it on palm fronds?

I love this saw! Very safe and easy to use. I’m an out-of-shape 62 year old woman and have been able to trim branches and cut up fairly big branches that came down in a wind storm. I bought the extension pole but that was a mistake. I’m not strong enough to balance the weight of the saw on the end of the pole.

I really have no use for this, yet I want one. It looks soooooo cool!

How would one sharpen the chainsaw teeth when they get dull?

The saw is what seems like a super idea until you use it for an hour or so. It then turns out to be a very big disappointment!

The saw is designed to do pruning and judging from the size of those jaws, it appears it will handle some pretty large stuff. This is NOT the case. Once the pole is extended, the whole thing is so out of balance that the average guy just can’t get enough leverage to safely handle this machine.

If you want to prune limbs that are beyond your reach, get a pole saw. While the pole saw also suffers from poor balance when fully extended, it’s not nearly as bad as this machine. Besides, you can quickly remove the chainsaw from the pole and use it as a conventional chain saw.

Hi everyone, Dexter here, anybody know how this would do on, uh, say maybe, animal bones?

The catalogue says that this little beauty can saw through a femur in 28 seconds. I’m betting you can cut that time in half!

I bought this the last time it was on woot. Cuts through large branches like butter.
