Xbox Game Pass Codes won't redeem because they're not in the right region??

I’ve seen a number posts about this but hoping there’s some sort of solution. I ordered 8 of the xbox game pass ultimate codes back in August with the intention of gifting them for Christmas. And I also ordered 4 back in June for myself, but I couldn’t add them to my account until now.

Yesterday I tried to redeem the 4 codes I ordered in June and they came up as “already redeemed.” I realize that since that was over 6 months ago, it’s hard to show that I didn’t redeem them myself other than showing that my Game Pass account hasn’t had a redemption since before June.

The 8 codes I bought in August are all saying that the code will not work in my region (US).

I reached out to customer service and they replied that since it has been more than 90 days since the order, they cannot help me. However, this feels a bit shady since these are digital codes that aren’t supposed to expire, and even if they did, they were supposed to be usable in the US in the first place, which they’re not. As you can imagine that 12 codes (8 from August and 4 from June) is a sizeable amount of money so I’m hoping there’s a way I can talk to someone or escalate my issue beyond the typical customer service “out of 90 days” response.

Any advice on how I might reach out to someone who has more authority to help? Do I have any recourse here?

Seems this is an ongoing problem. I just ordered 3 3-month GamePass Ultimate codes a few days ago, which even on sale is still a lot of money for some of us, and on all 3 codes I received, Microsoft’s site returned the error “This code can’t be redeemed. It was purchased in another region from your account.” Which is literally impossible because I don’t use a VPN, which is the only way that could even be a possibility aside from me having left the US, bought an Xbox somewhere else in the world under a new account, and bought the codes there, which I can assure you DID NOT happen while trying to save money on GamePass, lol.

Woot has been slow to respond, and their first reply was a complete waste of correspondence because they asked for photos of the “damaged goods,” clearly proving they didn’t even bother reading my initial message. These are digital codes, for crying out loud! All I know is, nowhere on the description of the item was there any indication these codes didn’t belong to the US. False advertising like this, and related problems that seem to have affected many customers, upon a quick search on this site, has completely changed my opinion of Woot. Once this issue is resolved (and they better do so promptly and properly), they will likely lose many customers, as they should given their shady practices. Really disappointed and I feel for all those who got screwed in a similar fashion. Woot, do better.

Hello. Thanks for the note. I’ve pinged customer service.

The codes worked for me last year. I wonder if this is a change from Microsoft to crackdown on codes? Woot should offer, at the very least, a partial refund.

Updates are welcomed. I have three 3-month codes stating “different region”. All 3 codes were around $33 each.

Hello. Have you reached out to customer service?

Yes. Nobody has reached out to me. It’s been over 24 hours.

Please allow 24-48h. Give them a bit longer, pls.
