Keep in mind that Xiaomi is under economic sanctions. No official warranty and parts availability will be sketchy. 90 days from Woot isn’t enough for such expensive product IMO.
165 pounds? Not since I was in high school. Oh well, someone needs to make a folding scooter for the 210’s husky person… we like riding on scooters but are not yet at the Walmart Rascal need, yet…
Did you see the Fiat branded scooter for $20 more?
“It can carry up to 265 lbs and has 2 brakes for added security.”
" * Maximum load capacity of 265 lbs"
EDIT - The specs on this scooter say “Max load: 220 lbs” . The 165lb load was used for the range and stopping distance claims.
“In order to extend battery life, Mi Electric Scooter converts and stores kinetic energy during acceleration into electrical power.”
That’s utter nonsense. During acceleration the battery is discharging, not charging. Even the claims of regenerative braking which happens during deceleration are overblown. Very little regen occurs in a scooter unlike in a hybrid or electric car. I bought the Swagtron clone of the Xiaomi Mi M365 for $300 and am happy with it despite it needing some parts. Battery life and top speed are under optimum conditions and won’t apply to most adults.
For those of us who are a bit oversized for a scooter like this, I’ve often wondered if two of them could be MacGuyvered together into a single unit somehow. Obviously could put a platform between the two of them, but steering would be an issue. Anyone ever seen anything like that?
