Once again the Woot photographer fails miserably!!! Show us the BACK of the thing! Not just four pictures of the front.

This is definitely vendor/manufacturer art. I’ll check with the buyer on more pics.
What is the point of thid device, it has no hard drive.

Not the same thing.
Woot states and clearly shows those cameras are PoE in the pictures, they can be used as standalone IP Camera is you have a PoE switch. The box serves as the PoE switch as well as recorder and storage.
Those ones on Office Depot are using BNC cables and they are not IP Camera by itself.
If not I just purchased a 9ch PoE system with 4 cameras from Foscam, this a very good deal.
I am warning anyone who is considering a purchase of a Zmodo product: This company provides ZERO customer support. Literally, there is no way to reach anyone, by email, phone, etc. I purchased a similar system in January from Amazon, it stopped working, and there is nothing I can do. STAY AWAY! You have been warned!

I’ve contacted Zmodo several times to set up my remote viewing and have had good experiences. You are on hold for awhile, but that’s the only downside.
My experience with these guys (Zmodo) was totally different. I just sent them two cameras to repair or replace. I was instantly contacted by them and issued an RMA in less than 24hrs. Hopefully these cameras will last longer than the previous models.

Um, no one has mentioned the important part of the HDD.there are people that will screw this up by trying to put an old drive in the unit. What is the minimum disc speed needed, IDE or SATA . Will the solid state drives work with this unit.
As stated other retailers/etailers have a similar product , but easy to spot difference.
I agree, without the critical information (like specs on the missing piece you need to buy before it’ll even turn on and work) this is a can’t-buy (the opposite of a must-buy).
I have some spare hard drives, but I came here to ask about the network setup. Out of curiosity, do these have to be plugged DIRECTLY into the unit, or just on the same network? I have my house wired already for network in most of the places where I’d want to put these cameras, but I’m not going to run a second entire network through the walls just for this.
If the networking works in a sane manner and there’s more information on how the thing actually works, this might be the kind of thing I’d buy. Not this one though, the reviews are too bad.
