Anyone ever try these? Not sure how well it works based on the review. Would be a bigger fan if it was usb c or bigger. I have found original bug zappers to work though

and every bug zapper I’ve ever owned says to place this AWAY from where you would be - because it ATTRACTS the bugs it kills

Mixed review.
Yes it works, but for how long?
Bugs seem to be sensitive to the battery charge level. On a fresh charge it gets more customers. After a few hours or on the second day, not so much. Since this was not designed with replacable batteries it is a well made landfill item.
Have tried to run this in places where I could plug it in or use a battery pack but that triggers a red charging light to stay on then shifts to a green one once charged.
On the positive side it really looks well made and waterproof. So far have only needed a small, stiff brush to nudge the buggers off. (now recycling for the neighbor’s chickens)
For this price, it’s ok.
Personally, I’m waiting for the FVOAI plug in Zapper for $29 I got last week during the festivities.

2 more things
Only using this because something came in and we have a meal moth issue. May also want to use for summer nats which can happen near the kitchen compost container.
Do not want to use outside specifically because we want to attract bees.

I bought a set last time they were on sale. Every once in a while when I see a bug in my place, or at least think I see one, I turned it on but I haven’t got any customers yet. Of course I could be seeing things or could just be floaties in my eye but I digress. I flicked water at it once to see if it would react and nothing happened but as long as somebody has got some customers that got fried then it makes me feel better.

I’m tempted to buy the Electrizap (3 per $35) but not sure if it would work either… anyone?

Curious how effective this would be in a car camping situation, think old VW campervan or even tent camping?

Camped in an old VW with a simple hack.
Did a lot of tent camping also.

Would rec using mosquito netting as your #1 defense.
All Zappers will attract buggers TO it.

If you already have them in your tent or vehicle, yeah go ahead.
If you don’t want them at your campfire, place the Zapper 40-50 ft away from your group and hope for the best.

It does not work on mosquitoes. They just don’t care. I have gotten a few fruit flies

I got some that we use at a campground, so no electricity to run a plug in model. My experience was that it worked well and the bottom light was an added bonus. The bad… taking them down to bring them in your house to recharge. They are full of bugs. Not fun. We’ve had a particularly bad year with bugs this year.

These are fabulous for how we use it! After making dinner in our camper, when it’s fire pit time, we place this inside the closed camper. It does its job and makes going to bed more pleasant! And shut off the light and leave it in the camper all night. It DEFINATELY kills mosquitos!!

How long did it take for the battery to stop recharging?
It works for me, but since I can’t drop in a fresh battery or light bulb, wondering how long this will last?
It’s a pity as it seems well built.

How long have you been using yours and has the battery died yet?
Is there a way to pop in a new battery/lights?

I haven’t hit the time where it won’t recharge yet. I can’t answer that for you. – SJ
