You know, I wasn’t intending to do this. I just wanted to make sure I was getting the best price before ordering a couple of the Vintage Glass Dispensers. And wow, was I not. And I was curious. And I kept finding them cheaper. EVERYWHERE.
I have never seen a Woot Plus sale that was this…bad in terms of pricing. aside from the ‘Madison Decorative Glass Beverage’ and the ‘Westchester Glass Beverage Dispenser’, both of which, the best price for each is about $15 more plus shipping, none of these are…well. Worthy of Woot, to be honest.
the ‘Vintage Glass Beverage Dispenser’ is $20.49 at Webstaurant.com.
To the moderator that edited the previous post: Personally, I really hate when mods edit a post to make comments refuting or arguing with a Woot member. There is a mechanism available for responding to a post: It’s called “Reply.” In my not so humble opinion, editing a member’s post should be limited to removing inflammatory or offensive language.
Also, who cares if there are only 2 units of something left at a price that is better. That doesn’t excuse a bad price, only that it’s nearly sold out. For all we know, Woot only has 2 units at their price, so it’s hardly a fair “argument.”
Shipping is an important part of a deal, I agree. But often the price difference (ok - not in this case) is large enough to make up for higher shipping costs.
Now I do have a question: The Vintage Beverage Dispensers (the ones that look like old-fashioned canning jars) state they are made of “crystal glass.” Normally crystal has lead in it. Normally glass does not. I would like to know if there is any lead in them.

Sorry for the delay; we were waiting on an answer from our vendor. It’s confirmed, THESE ARE LEAD-FREE!
Actually, Anonymous Pumpkin (seriously, not using ‘reply’ so I could see who I was talking to was pretty cowardly), I didn’t include shipping in that particular pne because Webstaurant charges by distance shipped since they use ground carriers.
Your shipping will be different than mine; mine is $4 to get one and $7 to get two.
And weirdly, $6 to get two and the pile of bar towels I need for my bakery.
I picked up one similar, but not the same as shown from my local grocery store for around $12. Many places are getting rid of their summer stock. You can do a lot better elsewhere.
I love my dispensers. One is used as described and I use another for making large quantities of vinegar.
I can siphon the older vinegar off the bottom while adding wine or cider to the top.
Enjoy

Sorry about the delay. I’ll add you to my afternoon report so CS can look into it.

Finally received my order today even though i never received a shipping confirmation i have to say the quality isn’t what i thought it would be the glass is on the thin side and the spigot is all plastic not metal and plastic as stated in the description.
