Anyone have any input on pros & cons of these vs the full size indoor blink cameras? (besides size obviously)
I’ve had a few of these for a couple years and they’ve always worked well. I use them mostly when out of town so I unplug them and never have any issues when I plug them in again.
Looks like the main difference is the mini require the ability to be plugged in. The camera sensor is the same on both the mini and full size.
The only issue I’ve had is they don’t seem to come out of night mode each morning. So I have it set in the app to disarm at re-arm the cameras around 9 am. This resets it all. Otherwise the cameras won’t work during the day if stuck in night-mode. Seems like a simple firmware update to fix this issue but it’s been 2 plus years….why no fix?
I’ve never experienced this problem with mine.
I have 2 they work great there really good quality cameras. And they can act as chimes if you have the blink doorbell. The only cons are they aren’t wireless. and you either need the blink subscription service or the module 2 with a usb flash drive to save videos. For the price there at its definitely worth getting.
This would be my first time with any video camera. Does it mean if I only need to check on my pet in real time/live, I wouldn’t need any subscription or anything else to be able to do that?
Is this sale for one camera or a 1 kit of 2?
If you are not looking to save any videos then no. All you need is wifi and thats it if you do want to save video’s then i recommend buying the wireless indoor or outdoor kit. It comes with a sync module 2 all you will need to do is buy a usb flash drive. Both indoor and out door kits are on woot. I have the outdoor kit and it works great as a indoor set up.
I don’t think the kits comes with a sync module. If it does, the deal would an even better deal!
The field of view is less and not battery operated.
Anyone tried these outdoor (sheltered)?
This is what comes in the box. i ordered the outdoor kit and it comes with the same items but this is only for the blink indoor wireless kit 49.99 and the outdoor wireless kit 59.99 both on woot. The sync module 2 can support upto 10 blink devices. And a 256gb ssd flash drive.
Just to be clear the blink mini indoor smart security camera dose not come with a sync module 2
Might also think about one of these for better viewing:

The minis do not come with any modules, and even with a module, you must subscribe to the Blink retention service even if you want to use the module to store video from the mini.

Mini blink do work with USB sync module, up to 10 cameras on a sync USB.

Cheep hack, Each Comes with free 30 days of service. Else it’s $10 a month. When my subscription expires I install another $10.00 mini or any blink camera. So for $10.00 a month I also get a free mini camera and 30 days of $10 cloud backup.
Best wishes
I’ve got one on our back porch and it has done fine so far. Hasn’t been through our 100+ hot summer temps, yet, but has gone through 10 degree cold winter temps, high winds, and rain so far without a problem. It’s under our balcony, so it has not been drenched in direct rain, though.
Perfect, thanks so much. I did pick it up.
