Bright Living LED Garage Ceiling Lights

I got these in black last time around and ‘bright’ is an understatement.
They are the unblinking eye of the almighty bright.
You remember those 500w halogen work lamps?
One of these is 3 of those.
Fantastic for the garage, a bit much (but still great) for the laundry area of the basement.
That they tilt up past horizontal is a nice feature, really crams light into the corners where spiders and your childhood fears might try and hide (they can’t tho).
They run hot if left on for a while, that metal surround isn’t decorative it’s all heat-sink for the light of truth.
My most serious bit of advice, if you put one of these on a pull-cord socket LOOK AWAY when you turn it on, otherwise you’ll have spots on your retinas and diminished vision for a good 5mins.
But really, highly recommended.

Totally agree with @PungentSauce. I bought a pair of these with an unpronounceable alphabet-soup name from the mothership a year or two ago to replace our builder-issue single-light-bulb ceiling fixtures in the garage and they light things up really well in there. We have ceiling racks in the garage, so the tilting feature is nice to redirect some of the light (at least a little) where it will be more useful than just shining on the top of the rack, leaving a dark corner beneath. I think I paid nearly double what they’re going for here, but no regerts. LOL

Very similar product on mothership that is slightly cheaper with 20% off coupon and you get free 2 day shipping. And it actually has ratings (4.5 stars). AND if you only need one, you can get on for $11.2 with the same coupon.

I was always told to avoid LED lights in the garage as they might interfere with the garagedoor opener frequency… was that all BS? anyone else notice any such issue? I would love to upgrade the old dim incandescent bulb in there…

I have the Bell & Howell version of these in both garages and haven’t had any issue with the garage door openers.

I have a light like this in my shop.
It’s blinding bright!
Wish it was a ‘warmer’ color though, maybe 3500k or 4000k.

Not all LEDs interfere with the garage door openers. RF receivers, but some do. Found that out the hard way after ruling out every other problem with our remote.

Wow, I think that may be the UAPS that has been sighted by the military

Has anyone had this installed for longer than 6 months or a year? They seem great, but the durability of the lights to not burn out in 6 months is in question.

I’m not sure if it’s the same brand (look the same, same specs) but I’ve had a pair going in the garage since August 24, 2019

LED lights WILL mess with your opener if you screw them into the light socket on your opener. Should not be an issue if you are putting them in the garage ceiling.

LED lights last a long time. These are rated for 50,000 hours. That means you could run it 24 hours a day and it would still be working after five and a half years.

These are bright and nice that’s right. But multi-directional false. If they were true multi-directional they would have balls and swivels to you could turn them literally any direction. Watch your wording.

At first glance I thought these were large fancy fidget spinners before I read the description lol

Wait. Your garage has space to park vehicles in it, requiring that the garage door opener remain functional?

We unplugged our garage door opener over a decade ago. Our garage is for storing stuff like bikes, toys, tools, wood, repaired microwave ovens as backups, dorm cube fridges, deep fryer cooking station (keeps oil out of the house), etc… most certainly not vehicles!
