Bright Living LED Garage Ceiling Lights

Bright Living LED Garage Ceiling Lights

Do they make a LED light similar to this but with a built in fan? Would be perfect for a garage.

We have a set of these in our garage. When we go out to the garage with the lights on, it’s as though someone left the garage door open. It’s **Bright **

Lots of really similar items on mothership for cheaper. Plus two day shipping and easier returns for primers. Here’s an example :

Granted, these are not EXACTLY the same, but seeing as how these Chinese knockoffs are all probably built in the same Chinese factory…

In conclusion, not really a deal. This shouldn’t be on the front page. It should be buried in the tool or home section. Put your best foot/deals forward, Woot.

These things are STUPID bright! I was working under one of these for about an hour or so and I got a legit sunburn. If you need lots of light, this is it!

That first one appears to be a one pack, so definitely not a better deal, and the other one looks much lower quality in the pictures, I wouldn’t consider either of these alternatives - but I hear you, I’m sure if you hunt you can beat this deal… but the point is you have to hunt. I think this is a good deal, honestly. I have gotten burnt too many times by whitebox alternatives.

Good catch on that link. It’s been deleted.

I bought a cheaper version of these lights a year ago from the mothership and both started failing after 6 months. The LED panels would go out one by one. One of the lights is totally gone and the other has only one LED wing that works. Maybe the cheaper versions of these lights isn’t the best option.

Dear Ms. Thighs ( @ThunderThighs ),

  1. What are the dimensions of one in both the fully open and fully upright conformations?
  2. Is there any way to get the iOS app to tell me when I have received a reply to a post I’ve made? I never get them from the app or in my email so I have to remember to check back repeatedly.

Thanks!

2000 lumens less than the Costco lights, yet more expensive. What a bargain!

These?

Unless you mean some other light, not less expensive. $39.99 (normally $49.99)

Lumen numbers on these things are an absolute joke. Never use it to compare lights sold on Amazon/Woot. If they don’t list what LED is specifically being used and the CRI of the LED, then assume they’re all the same cheap junk. Amazon is littered with these fake deals of 2-4 sets of the same rebranded lights. Just assume they are all the same is the takeaway here. Chances are they are all made in the exact same factory.

I’m not saying they’re bad, I’m just stating they are misleading at best and lying at worst.

80 CRI is meh, 95+ CRI is love. 6500k is disgusting, anything over 5000k typically has that disgusting blue tint. Most people tend to prefer a warm color LED (3000k-5000k) 3000k being yellow, 5000k being just below where the blue tint starts to show up. Sunlight = about 5000k with 100 CRI.

CRI = color rendering index. Basically the lower the number, the harder it is to see object’s true color due to the light changing it’s appearance. It’s easier to tell the slight differences between colors with a 95+ CRI, which is what flashlight enthusiast stride for with their LED choices. That way a snake looks like a snake, and not a stick.

  1. Dimensions: 12.3 x 12.3 x 3.2 Inches. 11" open. 5" upright.

  2. Unfortunately, no. We hope to finish the email notifications at some point but it just got delayed…again.

As someone with the cheaper Mothership ones I recommend ones with a center light if you plane to work underneath it and want to light up a large area with 1 light meaning you have the side lights angled a bit and not pointed straight down. I have 2 in my attic and they do a pretty good job of lighting up everything. And yes, they are a harsh, bright light but these aren’t really meant for your living room.

I got these a few months ago. They’re very bright and working great.

Same thing here. Mine definitely didn’t last 3 months. Not worth the money.

The mothership has a less expensive twin pack with twice the light output:
