Capresso SS Pump Espresso Machine

I own this model.

It works OK. Uses a “pressurized portafilter” which means it only passes water through when the pressure opens the valve at the bottom. So the tamp doesn’t matter as much. The grind and amount of coffee matters more.

Anyway it’s the 2nd of this model I’ve bought. the first one died after a couple of years. So the 2nd one I bought w/ an extended warrantee on Amazon.

It’s not a great extraction but it’s pretty good. Great for the price, easy to use and clean up.

I do double shots with it. I get some pretty good crema out of it.

“Advanced boiler maintains a reservoir of hot water at the perfect temperature for faster and more consistent results”

Does this mean it is always using power to keep the water hot?

No, it takes a couple minutes to warm when turned on - ours works great, have used it for at least two years and love it.

I think it’s some kind of heater block so the water’s not hot but the block is. So it keeps the block hot and it’s ready to pull a shot unless you turn the power off.

It only takes about 3 or 4 minutes to heat the block up. It lights a green light when it’s ready. So if you want to save power then turn it off and it won’t take long to warm it back up again.
