No one commenting on this deal. Seems to be a lot for a very basic set up - no monitor mount and no wheels. Does appear to have quick and easy adjustable height, but for much less, there are other standing desks with more features. Standing desks are nice, but I think I’ll go with the cheaper deals with more options or get one with an attached treadmill.

Where can you find a cheaper but better standup desk? I think this is a ridiculous price, but I’ve been keeping an eye out for such a desk and I think they are ALL ridiculously priced for what I should be able to set up myself with a couple of milk crates and some plywood. I’m being somewhat facetious there, but if you can tell me where I can get something similar for cheaper, I’d greatly appreciate it.

I know right!? This is a crazy good deal for one that doesn’t require you to clear the desk off, unbolt the legs, raise/lower them, rebolt them and put your desk back together all over again!

The only thing I can’t seem to find anywhere is a maximum weight for it can hold. I mean I wouldn’t assume it’s some lightweight that can only hold 50 pounds but I just would like to know.

Please let us know where we can find these better and cheaper sit/stand desks. I’ve been looking for a sit/stand desk for months, and they’re all overpriced. Ikea’s Bekant was one of the more affordable ones I found, and it’s more than this (not to mention I’m sure the gears will strip in like a year, which would be “wear and tear” not covered by their warranty). I’m moving at the end of this month and was really hoping to get a new desk for the move, but have been unable to find one in my price range.

It’s a real shame the weight limit for this desk doesn’t seem to be posted anywhere. Not knowing that kills any interest I would have, and makes me wonder about the quality.

Seriously, all these confused queries about how much weight it will hold? It’s a basic table top (dimensions are shown) and it will hold the typical desktop fare of a keyboard, monitor and such.

I have a similar brand with a 27-inch monitor and the other usual desktop debris. It has no problem cranking up or down to fit my needs.

Never heard of this brand, but the price is in line for these. You’re paying for the crank mechanism and steel legs.

And yes, a standing desk is worth it. Have one and getting another for my home office, perhaps this one.

Believe it or not, not all desks are created equal. The weight limits can vary quite a bit, and some of us have more than a simple single-monitor setup.

Add the fact that the info doesn’t seem to be posted on any sites and one can’t help but wonder. Especially when spending this kind of money.

I can’t find any info about the weight limit. Their website is pretty useless. It has the assembely manual though…

I bought one after spending quite a bit of time trying to google it this morning.

I did find them at Staples website. There is an aluminum version and a steel version. The one here at Woot is the steel version, so I’m betting it will hold more weight than the aluminum one will.

If the top itself doesn’t hold up, that’s ok with me since I’m a woodworker and I’ll just replace the top with something sturdier since the base should be plenty strong enough if it’s made of steel. The steel bases without a top are still more expensive than this one without a top.

(and I agree that this price should be the retail price in the first place because all of these standup desks are overpriced IMHO)

Eww a crank handle? I was looking for the linear actuator rating at this price…pass this up like a clown on the side of a back country road.

There are many ways to rig up your own stand-up desk for cheap.

I bought a $20 height-adjustable laptop caddy from Walmart and used that to hold my keyboard and mouse. I then bought six metal horizontal file organizers to jack up the height of my monitor while gaining some vertical storage space. When I want to work sitting down, I just lower the laptop caddy and adjust the monitor to face downward.

Of course, other cheaper options also exist. There are a variety of Stand Steady desks available on Amazon for $200 or so. These are considered add-ons to your current desk.

Finally, if you’re going to spend $300+ on something like this, you might as well as opt for an Ergotron with dual monitor stand and work surface. These things are adjusted via hydraulics.

Except for the Ergotron Workspace-D, which is roughly equal to this, you’re going to pay at least twice the price. The whole point of Woot is less-expensive. And carrots.

Perfect Review over at Staples

Take a look at VariDesk http://www.varidesk.com/ for some sturdy, reasonably priced solutions that go on top of a standard desk. I’ve got the Pro Plus and I’m very happy with it.

I work 40+ hours a week from home on the computer. I’ve been using stand up desks for for the last three years. My first stand up desk was one that I built myself. I quickly learned just how important adjustability is. First off there is the transition period. Don’t expect to switch to 100% standing immediately - you could be setting yourself up for failure!

The second thing about adjustability is that not all tasks are best done standing up. It varies for everyone, but I’ve found that sometimes I need to sit down to work through an issue.

I switched to an adjustable desk about a year ago and LOVE IT! The desk I have is very similar in appearance to this one (although the one I bought (multi-table) didn’t come with a top. I have two 27" monitors mounted on an arm that I attached to the table top.

I’d probably guess that, on average, I stand close to 70% of the day. When I’m sitting I use a yoga ball.

This looks like a great deal! Yes it’s a problem that they don’t have the supported weight on it, but most monitors today are pretty light.

One other suggestion I’d have is to make sure you get a really good quality anti-fatigue mat. I’m not talking about those gel ones for the kitchen - I’m talking about a pro-grade quality mat that will stand up to the “pressure” for a long period of time.

Happy Standing!

Two people asked. Two. And it’s a reasonable question, especially for an adjustable desk. Check your desk privilege.

I have an Anthro sit/stand desk. It’s awesome and holds all my computer equipment plus two 27" monitors. Highly customizable. You get what you pay for.

I do not know if they updated the post and didn’t say anything, but the post clearly states:

Weight Limit for desk: 300 lbs

Vendor has let us know the weight limit is 300lbs.

Edit: Dave beat me to it- but we did just edit that info in this morning.
