lol at Reginald VelJohnson!

would be in for one if it supported Ipod 80gig 5g

Resolution?

Screen contrast ratio: 350:1

Wow… I wonder what its dynamic contrast ratio is lol.

does it support the iPod Touch or iPhone??

Another iPod accessory that doesn’t support the 60 or 80gb 5th gen iPod or the iPod Classic?

For shame, Woot.

What a strange beast. I’d much rather have a portable DVD player and skip the hours of conversion and lowered quality.

User Manual:

Since neither are listed in the list of compatible iPods, I’d say…no.

I’ll stick with my Sonic Impact V55.

Page 9 of the manual. Do we assume these are 5th gen? (I know absolutely nothing about iPods…)

in the user manual it says that the 60 and 80 gb ipod videos do not require adapters, I’d take that as they are supported

wish they made one for the zune

This looks similar to the Sonic Impact V55 which is a really great accessory. I just happened to buy one on a lark because they were on sale for $50 at Costco and I’ve used this thing more times than I can count (everyday for over 2 years). It protects and charges the iPod, and it is excellent for kids. I set up some movies in a playlist and it keeps them entertained in the car. NO SWITCHING DISCS WHILE DRIVING! Just load their kid movies into the iPod, and create a movie playlist, then put enough movies in to cover the car ride distance and hit play. You’re all set.

If you have an old ipod video collecting dust, kids, a vehicle without a built in entertainment system, and plan on taking a roadtrip in the next year or two then BUY THIS. Don’t get buy one of those DVD things for $100+ or even worse, the ceiling mounted deal for $300-400, when this will do the job. Plus, you can bring it into the hotel as well for watching movies that you enjoy while the kiddos sleep without disruption.

Will this work with all the new versions of the Ipod classic?

Before I pull the trigger, can someone 100% confirm it works with 80 gig video?

Well I had the 30 gig iPod and this player then got the touch… Now the only reason I keep the 30gig is to keep in this because it doesn’t work with my itouch. So no, the itouch does’t work with this.

Maybe it’s not so great to play movies directly off an iPod rather than off a DvD or Bluray disc, but consider that charging stations with just external speakers cost more than this, so it is actually not a bad deal.

Well, it’s not a bad deal IF the audio quality is decent…
