for those of you that are costco members, here’s a better deal at $149 for a true sine wave version of 1500VA
https://www.costco.com/cyberpower-1500va--900watts-true-sine-wave-uninterruptible-power-supply-(ups).product.100527623.html
That is an older version of it. Still good, just saying.
I bought this and got a very old version. It doesn’t have the flip out color screen or any USB ports. Woot tried to cover it up by replacing the product images but didn’t change the description. Debating if I should return it.
I’m sorry about that. I’ll ask about the sale.
Please do reach out to Woot! Customer Service. To speed things up, let them know if you prefer a return/refund or a replacement (if possible).
From a browser, use the Woot! Customer Service form.
In the Woot! App, choose Account from the bottom navigation and then Support.
Note: Woot! Customer Service replies go to the email address on your Woot! account, not your Amazon login email if used/different.
Please allow 24-48h for them to respond.
Just got the email and checked the box that came yesterday. This sucks. Not what I purchased.
I would like to point out what “False Advertising” is:
(False Advertising Under Consumer Protection Laws | Justia)
Deceptive Description:
A common form of false advertising involves deceptive or misleading product descriptions, particularly claims that a product has certain features or benefits that it does not, or that it is of a higher quality than it actually is. Examples include:
Use of misleading terms, such as “organic,” “natural,” or “light”;
False claims of scientific support, or endorsement by scientific or medical authorities;
Misleading illustrations or photographs;
Use of coloring or other modifications to make a product appear to be of a different quality; or
Falsely claiming that a product contains certain ingredients, or misrepresenting the quantity of an ingredient.
I think Woot got screwed by CyberPower too and it was an unintentional mistake (especially if CyberPower handles the shipping to the customer, which I’m sure). CyberPower revised the design in late 2019 and some Amazon reviewers were surprised at receiving the updated model when Amazon and CyberPower websites were still showed the old design. The revised design has an extra “a” (“CP1000PFCLCDa”) on the box label.
It would be nice if CP told Woot that some/all of these refurbs are previous models so Woot would’ve post appropriate pictures and description in the first place.
FWIW, I think Costco is still selling their exclusive 1500VA model (as linked by simonwang above) with the old chassis design to save money: no multi-color tilting LCD, no USB-C port in front, etc.
I reached out to support a few days ago and they offered me a lousy $30 refund if I wanted to keep it, or I could return it. They’ve since ghosted me. If I don’t hear back by Monday, I’m going to fight the charge on my credit card.
Hi there. No need to do that. Just reach out to customer service and ask for a return label. It’ll be faster in the long run.
I heard back from someone this afternoon and it’s been taken care of. Thank you.
