I think they match the models on sale.

It looks like only one model has the “built-in cuff key” but the descriptive text refers to that in a couple different ones.

Is this what the saying “the pen is mightier than the sword” means?

Mall ninja alert!

The Defender TACPEN1-BK is a good sturdy pen, but be aware, the scalloped ridges are sharp enough to scratch anything easily. Do not put it in your pants pocket, as the scalloped ridges scratch the crap out of your hands any time you go for something in your pockets. Likewise leaning against a car is a bad idea. Plus if you put it in your breast pocket, and then hang your glasses near it, they will get scratched. I would go for the one with the single tip window breaker (TACPEN4-GM). Both are also a bit large to fit in many breast pocket pen slots.

does anybody know where this is manufactured? Because if it is Israel, no way.

The tacpen 4 has a cuff key as part of the swivel pocket clip. I own it but am not real pleased with the clip. Unless you were to loc-tite it, it has a tendency to loosen and swivel at will.

The tacpen 3 also has a cuff key as part of the DNA collector, the sharp crown on the back of the pen used for gouging your assailant and collecting a sample of their DNA. But to get to it you have to unscrew the DNA collector completely and remove it from the pen body.

China, natch.

Just what I need for bullet proof writing.

What are the odds of getting one of these past the TSA?

My fav pen. The version I have has the key. I also have the black version with DNA catcher…both are excellent for writing, great looking and just to fidget with. They are not very heavy at all. I’ve held some tactical pens that are fairly hefty, but not these. Good price as well, but it is not rare to see these around the net at this price. Grab one just for fun at this price.

It all depends on the agent…but most let it go on.

What is a cuff key?

“Take my pen and I will keel you!”

Handcuff key. In the photo Amazon has for the TACPEN3, you can see the hidden key.

Wait, cuff keys…? DNA catchers…? This is sport Woot, right? What the hell kinda sports does Woot think their members play?? Hunger Games?

Well, to make you feel safe, I accidentally left 3 2 inch blade pocket knifes in a backpack I used camping with the boys and put them through security at both Detroit and LaGuardia airports TWICE before realizing they were in the bag. Nobody ever stopped me, and yes they went though the xray…
