4k TV’s are just coming out, how can there be refurbs already?
Any set that’s been returned for any reason can no longer be sold as new, and becomes a refurb. In many product categories, most refurbs are simply items returned through places like Amazon that don’t ask questions, that were often purchased by people who never intended to keep them.

No way to use for a 3+1 computer setup since no DisplayPort, right? HDMI limited to 30FPS, correct?
There is 1 HDMI port that supports the unofficial/pre-release next generation HDMI and supports up to 60Hz. The other 4 are standard HDMI and max out at 30Hz.
The question would be, will your video card support higher.
The way I see it, there’s no reason to buy a 4K display for your computer (gaming specifically) at this point. Nothing but the highest end systems are going to be able to run 4K resolution games at any decent settings and get more than 30FPS currently. If you have a lot of disposable income, sure… get one. But for everyone else, just wait it out. In a couple years we’ll have systems that can do it, and better options for screens.
I’ve had my 24" 1900x1200 screen for getting on eight years now. It’s outlived several gaming rigs. When I finally do buy a new display I want it to be one that I can have for another five to ten years. There’s no sense in getting one now when I can’t even fully utilize it yet.

You do know that people use PCs for reasons other than games (graphic design, 3D rendering, CAD, multi-window applications…)?
A year ago there were very few broadcasts in ultra high Def (4K). Does anybody know if that has opened up at all? I have a couple of refurb Vizios (great TVs) that I bought from Woot a few years back, but they’re not 4K. Is the 4K resolution THAT much better?
Using mine now as a computer monitor. There is one HDMI port that supports a 60Hz signal - don’t listen to those self appointed experts out there bloviating - I own one of these and I plug into the 60 Hz HDMI and enjoy 4K computing on a screen much bigger than a paltry 28". I’ve had this since December and I’ve had zero issues (except with Quicken 2015, which is buggy as hell and does not refresh properly). All other apps are flawless.

4k is that much better having seen it running in the Sony store near my office all the time but finding content in 4k is harder than finding HD content back in 2000.
