do these refurbished models come with window setup accessories adapting outflow/incoming? I have 2 lite sliders that absolutely need window setup

If you haven’t ever used one of the non window mounted type AC, they utilize a tube (sort of like a dryer exhaust tubing) to route the hot air to the outside. If the amount of tubing isn’t very, very short, the heat in the tubing will tend to disipate back into the room, not too effective when cooling is your objsctive. Also these type units produce a prodigious amount of condensation. If you cant rig something to contain the excess water that results (like tubing and a 5 gallon bucket) the cooling will be reduced. Emptying a small reservoir repeatedly can get old quickly and you may get drips . One last thing 500sq ft is tiny.

I kid… sort of. My bedroom (the master) is less than 150sqft, and google tells me the studio apartments in my area are 500 or less. If anyone expects a portable AC to cool an entire house, they might want to change their expectations.

My apartment is less than 600 sq ft. I use a portable AC (rated at 400 sq ft) to cool it and it works well, though I have to use a couple of fans to get it to cool the bedroom. I also have a small window AC I can use in my bedroom if necessary.
Anyway, you’re right – for some people, one of these would work well in a variety of situations. It’s not really meant to cool a whole house.
I will note: my portable AC is a different brand but it doesn’t require any dumping of water (yes, I’m sure – it’s in the manual for the unit). it only requires dumping if it’s used in its dehumidifier mode. I can’t speak to the unit on sale.

I TOTALLY MISREAD square foot capacity when I commented. 500sq ft is not tiny. This unit is rated 6900BTU and has pretty decent reviews. Depending on where you live, humidity, proximity to the window etc. this doesn’t sound like a bad deal. I stand by the effectiveness of the window units over the portable. Have had more than one portable and it just didn’t come close to the window unit for cooling.
