Hey woot - top line description says Win10 but Features say Win11.
It’s probably been upgraded as part of the refurb process but maybe @notmatty or some staffer can clarify and or fix the listing.
@yesmyok it ships with Windows 10 and supports Windows 11. We’ve updated the listing to be more clear.
I’ll also get some new glasses
I’m tempted, I’m tempted… Oh, but it’s a Dell.
Dude
Call me a snob, but I’m not generally a fan of Dell or HP. You tend to pay more just for the name when there are other brands with the same, just as good, or if not better, components that you’re not paying just for the marketing of.
I get that. I really like Dell’s support integration and I’ve been to the beautiful Dell Diamond so I’m biased.
That HDD though…
Hello! This one comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Home, but includes the free upgrade to Windows 11 option. W cleared that up in the offer!
My HDDs are starting to rattle and I’m like this close to just ripping them out of my system. They are vibrating my entire case. Gonna try to add some material to stop it from rattling. And it’s old 6tb & 2tb HDD, so much space >.<
HDD are great for cheap storage space, but i’ve personally become too spoiled by SSD boot times to ever go back, haha.
I completely agree. I had these for storing downloads and older games and stuff like that. Have 2TB for SSDs storage. I can’t imagine going back to booting off an HDD
That was about a decade ago here. I still have an OCZ decal somewhere like this -
(The corollary, of course, was “My HDD lasts longer than an OCZ drive.”)
Once I learned that an even once the write limit is reached on your SSD, you can still read your data off of it(in most cases) to write it to a new drive; the fact that the HDD lasts longer stopped mattering to me, lol.
The write limit is something ridiculously high, too, isn’t it? Functionally so that most users would never come near it before the machine itself was obsolete if not the SSD size. Only in the most intense of write scenarios would this limit be met…
Correct most of the current drives with average usage should last 15+ years
