not full-HD screen, no Windows 11 support. near obsolete. should be $150 or less
Rugged but antique in performance and doesnât support Win 11.
This might be a good purchase if the hard drive is reformatted with a Linux distro. The machine has some nice features, including a backlit keyboard and 16 gb of RAM. Load Libre Office and you will be able to access all of your Office files from Windows. Staying wedded to Windows is not always a good idea. There are some useful and free alternatives out there.
I used this model for 10 years at my job, and police used the same 7414. They are tuff, I dropped it more than once, never had an issue.
We were told that it was water proof, but donât put it in the dishwasher. Yes there was a guy that tried it!
Non-touchscreen, so what is the included stylus for??
Toy badge and Crown Vic mount sold separatelyâŚ
Is it hardened against EMP?
For digging ear wax out of your ears?
I checked with the vendor and they confirmed this is actually touch screen
I have a serious concern about this item. I pulled the trigger on it as it was offered as a âGrade A.â I pleasantly received it faster than expected, but that happiness was quickly dashed when I saw that this grade A looked more like a grade B, and I paid the extra money to get the A quality. Whatâs worse is that it included a funny little attached lanyard that looked like a miniature pigâs tail.
Well, thatâs when I noticed there wasnât a stylus included as promised. Apparently, that was what SHOULD have been attached to a stylus. There is a molded empty slot near it which was empty. This REALLY burns, because even grade B was promised the stylus, and at a lesser cost than I paid. Now, when it comes to the grading process, it is confusing and vague. I recently purchased a âscratch and dentâ Dell Latitude 3189 11.6" Touch Laptop that was listed as a grade B S&D, and it was in better shape that this one. Just because most Dell 7414âs arenât in great shape, it doesnât change the grading process. I looked at the stickers attached to the box and laptop, but canât see any mention of grading of this laptop.
Possibly the item number is coded to identify one from another, but without that knowledge, how would I know that this item wasnât the correct item I was supposed to receive? The missing stylus and condition might be correctly coded in the itemâs code, and it may or may not be a mistake and possibly the wrong item. What I do know is that this wasnât a grade-A refurb, and itâs also missing the stylus.
(EDIT: Other Wooters- If you were like me and ordered one of these, and things were different or similar, I would love to hear your experiences.
This is an interesting build from Dell, even if itâs an older processor and chipset.)
[EDIT 2: Here is the SSDâs data info. A âGrade A Laptopâ with an SSD that has 44,195 power on hours. /24 = 1841.458 Days. /365 = over 5.045 Years. SSDs at this size typically run for <$30, so this makes 0 sense for a Grade A refurb. Also, the trackpad is buggy and doesnât cleanly let you guide the cursor, so you literally have to use a mouse to guide the cursor.
This is the worst woot Iâve EVER encountered. Plus, to write them I have to keep writing from the websiteâs email because my Amazon email is attached to a catch-all and goes to my gmail, and they tell me to change my âwoot emailâ contact, but as an Amazon customer, the system will not let me. I will not change my Amazon email, because they always ask for your email when you speak to them and my gmail is a jumble of letters and numbers. Hence, why I use an easy-to-read email address with Amazon.]
Make sure you contact customer service. Theyâll have some options for you. Hereâs the blurb.

I had done this when I posted. I copied nearly verbatim. Only, because I couldnât post pictures there, I posted those here and mentioned that I was posting them here.
I donât think theyâll look here, but if they ask for pictures you can attach them to that reply email. Itâs kinda an odd system.
