I have been trying to buy this item but it simply won’t allow me to check out:
I can add it to my cart but when I click “Proceed to Checkout” it just times out. This happens with every browser I have tried. I have cleared cookies etc. I have tried multiple computers.
I managed to reach someone at customer service but they couldn’t figure out the problem. Is anyone here able to add this item to their cart and then reach the checkout page?
I think that’s some kind of dev page that doesn’t actually sync with the live site so yes, that’s probably the problem. I wandered there by accident a few weeks ago and there are plenty of ancient deals to be found, e.g. the shirt deal from sept 2023 featured on the shirt.woot homepage: https://shirt.staging.woot.com/?ref=w_ngh_sh_8
It does appear to be in a world of it’s own. I found it via a google search for that model of dash cam. It seems to be a real deal because the deal timer is functioning and the item can be added to a cart. The price seems about right given the age of this particular model. However, checkout seems to be impossible so maybe this was never intended to go live. Tragic, I was really hoping I could buy this thing.
Guess we’ll see but in my case this was the “carrot”

it’s entirely possible that the staging one was live at some point when the “real” one was, and during that time one could checkout successfully but I’ll never know.

Yes, it looks like the exact same situation with those JBL speakers. I think you have cracked the code. Maybe they just forget to clean up these staging pages after the deals are gone. Thanks for your help.
Thanks for setting the record straight @ThunderThighs . When you say “pre-production” does that mean that there is a possibility that these deals might be forthcoming or are these particular deals ancient history?
