The battery is built in. I have the v8 animal, fantastic piece of machinery that completely outclassed our bissell pet upright. This should be even better.
Got my friend too buy this off woot about a year or two ago… definitely worked as if brand new
Just bought this 3 weeks ago. You could not tell the difference between a new unit and this. Runs like a champ!
Give it time, I’ve been through 3 of these. The battery dies after about 1 year. Even bought replacement batteries and those don’t last.
The charging method destroys them.
What did you ultimately end up with? We have the Animal Complete (pre cinetic version) and my wife has been eyeing the stick vacs for a long while now. We’re considering this deal at the price point, but I always hesitate for battery models due to run time and battery longevity like you mentioned.
Finally getting one of these. A brand new Shark with similar features is the same price but doesn’t have the same suction.
great deal, got a V8 years ago for a similar price, a V10 is deff the way to go now a days!
I just received mine! It says grade B certified refurb on a small label and comes in a plain cardboard box. It comes with EVERYTHING a new Dyson would and honestly it looks brand new! Not a single blemish on mine and sucks like a dream! Very happy with my purchase! 
Our old V8 has taken a lot of abuse over the past 4 years, it’s used almost daily and still going strong, just thought it was time for an upgrade. You can’t go wrong with a Dyson. 
I just received this, and Woot screwed up. I didn’t get the V10 Animal as advertised, instead I got the V8! Contacting customer service.
