The last photo shows the dimension of one speaker as 30” x 30” x 30”. That doesn’t seem likely, and they don’t look cubic. What size are these really?
If the Uni-Fi 2.0 speakers are a newer version of these, they’re le$$ on the mothership.
NOPE, these appear to be UBR62-BK UniFi Reference Bookshelf, $1200 on the mothership (and on Elac’s site). Helluva bargain
@MHLloydDavies A: 8.19” x 14.13” x 13.15”
(edit) clarified product number, price on elac.com/ubr62.
Useful review here of a set of these with surrounds and center speaker.
That’s what I came to say too. 30x30x30 cube?
Correct dimensions are 16.7 x 22.5 x 16.2 inches. 30” cube is incorrect.
Sub woofers should still be 6.5”.
Curious, those aren’t the dimensions I got from ELAC’s site. Check the link I posted … from photos of the front and back, these seem an exact match for the UBR62 in Satin Black w/Walnut Sides.
If your dimensions were correct, there’d be roughly 5" of space on each side of the 6" woofer. Can’t be. I’ll trust ELAC’s site instead.
I appreciate the link; it’s informative and authoritative. While I was trying to find a bookshelf at home to accommodate a 30in cube, the speakers sold out. Darn.
Posted a review above. Don’t worry, if I know Woot, these might come back. Keep an eye out.
I also like Klipsch R-41PMs (powered bookshelf speakers) that Woot has been offering (new; open box). Like the UBR62s, they come alive when paired with a good, robust subwoofer. My short review of them is here. (I’m playing some 80s/90s rock on them right now. Heaven!)
That’s a fine review! I agree with you about bookshelf speakers + subwoofer as the right approach, and would since the Miller & Kreisel S-1B satellites + V-1B sub I heard decades ago. But I’m looking for traditional, unpowered speakers to connect to an old Yamaha amp and separate components. I’ll take your sound advice (ahem) and wait for a reappearance.
